A few years ago there had been some rumblings of major rift in the locker room. I wonder if there is any impact of that on this off-season.

I think that's basically the deadline to work out the trade. Don't see them wanting to sign him to a 1yr... feel most teams would rather get him now and sign him to a long term deal instead.
