And I can't wait to read about Gio covering these poor folks during this stoppage. Because that's HIS job.
Utterly embarrassing.

Nice move after his shocking lack of awareness last week.
Rudy Gobert is donating more than $500k to support arena employees at Vivint Smart Home Arena and COVID-19 related social services in Utah, Oklahoma and France, the Jazz announced.

It absolutely does, quite obviously, because money is a finite resource and he has to decide where to put it.

It's also at this point fairly decisively proven that the idea that you shouldn't help those near you if the money could theoretically be spent elsewhere to help someone even more in need is nonsense in practice.

"Decisively proven" by whom? I'm pretty sure you just made this up. There's an entire effective altruism movement led by some pretty smart people, including Steve Pinker, Will MacAskill, Peter Singer and Bill Gates, who would all say you're wrong about this.

(Help/charity is also generally most effective and least problematic when done within the community.)

Again, source please? Charity is most effective when directed at problems where the marginal value of the dollar is highest - that's why malaria charities are better "bang for your buck" donations than breast cancer charities, even though there are very few cases of malaria within your community or mine.
Those seem like some pretty outlandish positions that require quite a bit of evidence to defend, all in all.

LOL, are you seriously arguing that the Flames are already donating every possible dollar they can? That's a pretty damned terrible argument even by your pretty low standards.
It's also proven by studies. Basically all studies into the subject. It's just not how people work.
"Effective altruism" is an idea which has not proven to be particularly effective. It's not particularly ineffective either, but really it's in large part because of few outlier projects, and it's never been proven that the effective altruism movement has had a significant impact in how effectively money is donated.

Again, false dichotomy. The Flames are not into effective altruism or donating to malaria, and aren't suddenly going to get into it.
You're also misrepresenting your own position quite blatantly.
You're not now, you have never and you never will actually demand or even suggest that the Flames should donate to malaria or in general that they should get into effective altruism. That's just random BS you bring up because it happens to superficially support what you said earlier.
All you are actually saying is you don't think they need to support their own workers. That's the sum of what you're saying in practical terms. The rest is tangentially related word salad. Your schtick is cute but it's really old by now. I generally steer away from arguing with you because you're so incapable of having an honest argument, but when we're talking about a situation.where real life people's ability to pay their rents is literally on the line, I really feel a need to just tell you how badly I want to say STFU.
I have neither time nor respect for your BS position.

All Raptors tested negative for COVID-19, but another NBA player tests positive:

Detroit Pistons‘ Christian Wood has tested positive for coronavirus, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. Wood had 30 and 11 rebounds against Rudy Gobert on Saturday night before a career-high 32 on Wednesday.

My advice at this point is to walk away from the keyboard for now. Not attacking you, not agreeing with you, just from experience of taking the least popular stance on CP.

The Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) has suspended the start of their season.
With no hockey to talk about I’m going to start calling CP Calgary Pandemic.

Damn, I was really holding out hope for the Australian Ice Hockey League.

Well, that should pretty much kill the NHL and NBA seasons.
8 weeks from now is the 10th of May (Mother's Day). There's no way they could hold a mini-training camp, play a couple regular season games per team, then hold even an abbreviated playoff in any kind of reasonable time after that.

Winnipegers are cheap. Like, really cheap. They probably would do the same thing.
