Senators are simply waiting and trying to obtain the best package possible.. (IMO)
I bet they are sitting on 2 or 3 offers and are waiting...
He has to make a really good deal with Stone.

The GM's in on Stone are savy guys. They know Dorion has no hand. The price has to drop in the next hour. Considerably.

Treliving is fine without Stone and Ottawa’s suitors are dropping like flies. Brad holds all the cards.
Definitely interested to see how the day pans out.

I still take what Friedman said the other week as gospel.
The Flames won't do anything until the Stone situation comes to a conclusion.

They were out on the previous asking price....Maloney flat out said as much.
If price has come down, then yes they will have a look.

They are still playing chicken. The thing with Treliving is that he probably won't be too terribly upset if we don't get him, where as if Ottawa doesn't trade him, that will be a big mistake in terms of the rebuild (unless they re-sign him).
Maybe Vegas and Nashville are still in on him as well, but it seems likely that San Jose and Winnipeg are out now. Ottawa is losing leverage the longer this drags on.
I also wonder if St. Louis might jump into the mix. They are hot right now and peaking at just the right time. Could be a real playoff dark horse.

Fine by me. Let Ottawa be the one that blinks. Treliving has shown to be pragmatic and patient above all, routinely talking about deals sometimes taking a year plus (Hamonic) to materialize. Calgary can go hard after Stone's rights at the draft or when he's a UFA July 1st.
Stone is gravy for the Flames, he's the most delicious gravy but Gaudreau, Monahan, Lindholm, Tkachuk, Backlund.. that's a solid forward group with supporting players like Bennett, Janwkoski, Ryan showing their worth.
Having Rittich and Brodie returning to form is a bigger addition than any deadline deal.

It sucks the Sens are asking for so much for him I hope he walks in July and signs with the Flames it would be a game changer for our club. I am betting that Stone wants to come to Calgary and sign because of his brother and not to mention we are now a contender. I bet he gets traded as a rental and comes here this summer.

Im not sure thats the case at all.
Winnipeg might be out, but that's about it.
even then Im sure they will re-visit it one more time before it all comes down as well.

All we've ever heard is Treliving in on anything. He's never out.
And I wouldn't even call it posturing. I think Treliving has a line in the sand that he won't cross and Dorion knows where that line is.

The Flames are probably the last minute trade.
Pretty sure Treliving has made an offer and has told Dorion he won't be budging from that. Dorion is probably looking for other offers that are better and maybe isn't finding anything.

I really don't think that's happening. Stone will be traded today. Ottawa ownership is not willing to risk losing him for nothing. That is just my thought on the matter.

Dorion picked a bad partner for his umpteenth attempt at becoming a shrewd negotiator.
