I remember Browner getting fined when he did that in Calgary after an interception.

This has MLSE all over it. He is a very good coach who didnt have a QB all season.

I mean, he won a GC last year, albeit very luckily, and now he isnt good enough to coach?

Meddling owners are gonna meddle.
It was reported a while back that one of Popp or Trestman was likely getting fired and that it's possible Popp may do the coach and GM thing again if he was the last man standing.

I take it Collaros is done.
I have heard that Collaros is healthy and will be starting the next game.

Staff/players have zero onfidence in Bridge anymore. Its more of an insurance policy.

I don't think MLSE will let him do that like the Wettenhalls did.

Wouldn't shocked me if he just heads home with all he has going on His father passed away in September. his wife has been battling multiple myeloma (her older sister has the same battle going on).

I take it Collaros is done.

I'm guessing Tate's job is to teach Collaros how to win a playoff game despite having a concussion

^^ That is super lame. Who really cares that much that the CFL needs to ban the "mimicking" of alcohol or drugs. Let the players show some freaking personality, the NFL is boring AF with how much they muzzle their players. Gott got mega play on ESPN.

So, does on-field celebrations literally mean on the field? The reason I ask is the Stamps secondary celebrate interceptions with a toast and clinking together of their helmets, but that is done on the sidelines which is not part of the playing surface.

My American friend in Texas mentioned ESPN showed that beer guzzling in their highlight reel. Unfortunately it was the only time any CFL footage has been shown down south, so you’d think Ambrose would love every minute of it

It was a funny moment but it's not something you want to see repeated as the optics are poor. I think the CFL handled it well by not fining him but making sure it doesn't happen again. Say what you want but it's a professional sport and you can watch WWE if you want to see Stone Cold guzzle a beer.

There isnt a professional organization of any sort that would allow its employees to be seen as promoting the use of alcohol in the way that was done. Not in this day and age of political correctness.

There was no choice for the CFL but to do what they did...unfortunately.

The CFL nailed it. No fine, even commenting that it was funny but it wouldn't be appropriate to see it all the time.

I wonder if the alcohol "or drugs" has anything to do with pot becoming legal...

In any event, if the refs flag the Stamps DB's for "raising a glass" on the sideline, then clearly they have gone too far. But I don't really see that happening...

It will be interesting to see how much interest the league can garner in Halifax.

I know some people think it's a great idea but IMO this is going to be as successful as US expansion for the league. The CFL can't get 20k in established bit markets like Vancouver, Toronto, Hamilton, Montreal and it's a lot to expect people of the Maritimes to do what larger markets cannot. I suppose there's the chance that like in Saskatchewan they draw from all over the area but it feels like a reach to me.

All those cities listed provide various other sports entertainment options though. Halifax, and area, really do not. They would be the big fish in the pond so to speak.

There has been a TON of due dilligence done on this thing as the idea has been around for probably 30 years or so.

I don't think this can compare to the US expansion in any way. Again that was going into markets with a plethora of other options to grab some of the sports dollars people part with.

I think this would work without a problem as long as the team can be competitive fairly quickly, and they have a solid season ticket base. Both those requirements are easy to accommodate with the right attitude by the league and the ownership.

The worst part of Halifax joining the CFL is it would eliminate the crossover which means at least one pitiful team will make the playoffs each year.
