A known dirty player intentionally crosschecks your captain with a clear intent to do nothing but injure him.
Brouwer did the exact right thing in fighting back. That breeds team unity and the mentality to go to battle for your teammates. Remember the Oilers circa 2006 to 2016?

If we want to be a strong team, players need to be able to stand up for each other. Sometimes it costs us a PP or makes us shorthanded - but it has to be done. That’s how teams get built.
