And Treliving is looked at like a god but some of his signings have been terrible. The strong pieces on this team are mostly from a Darryl Sutter era and Jay Feaster.
Treliving has Frolik, Brouwer, Versteeg, Kevin, Engelland, both goalies, Tkachuk, Chiasson, Raymond, he has a lot of the cap team.

If that's Gulutzans system we're in for a long season. Our d men can't be pressing all the time.

Treliving has had his hands all over 2 atrocious starts to the season with unnecessary distractions and his coaching hire isn't winning any popularity contests. Maybe he should stick to contract negotiations.

It's gonna be a long, painful season if they can't turn this around, starting tomorrow. Two stinkers in a row against the Coilers to start the season is absolutely embarrassing.

I know it's only been two games but this squad has all the hallmarks of a poorly coached hockey team. Gulutzan seems to be in way over his head.

Correction; Gio and Wideman sure as hell shouldn't be pressing. Those two are the problem right now. It's apparent Gulutzan plays a strong side cycle where the d join the high boards and the entire team rotates to compensate but it won't work with Wideman and Gio because they can't get back into the play.

It just doesn't feel like this team either understands or has bought into the new system.

While the penalty killing looked ok, the powerplay was brutal. They looked confused on the break outs. Their defensive coverage was deplorable. As well there wasn't a physical work effort, we were losing puck battles to Eberle and RNH two of the softest players in the league all night.

Its frustrating to watch a team that can't complete passes without bobbles, give the puck away because they're passing to abandoned spaces, look completely befuddled as well.

GG has a lot of work to do, because my sense is that he's bought in a system built for a different type of team. This system isn't taking advantage of our speed and skill at all.

I think the Oilers are beatable, but we made them look like the 76 Montreal Canadians defensively because we kept working into occupied space.

Its ok to lose your first game because you look unsteady. Its not excusable to lose your home opener in a easy fashion when you got bombed in the first game.

Oh and Johnny you have your money, how about doing something out there?

It does feel like Don Hay all over again. A suspect head coach the fans never wanted that turned into kind of a self fulfilling prophecy. That said 2 games doesn't remotely make a season but the guy doesn't have the luxury of goodwill with fans.

What did you expect from a rookie GM and rookie coach.

Well ####.

I was able to excuse the loss in game 1 because of Grossmann and bad refs. This game, unfortunately, was all on the Flames.

How do you get 24 shots on net in the first and then 11 in the second and third combined?
