Would imagine that in the scenario we don't trade anybody, we would have somebody double shifting taking Engelland shift's, as well as Wideman maybe not being on the PK.
I think the Canucks organization needs to send this fan some anti-psychotic meds (all the same guy):

Anyone noticing that once again it's the Canadian teams primarily making all the 'splash' trades?
Long-term it would not surprise me at all if Boston wipes the floor with Calgary on this trade. People are undervaluing the picks. They're all solid. And what is Calgary going to do? Win the cup? No.

In Boston's current position and the quality of these drafts, I'm pulling off a deal like this in a freakin' heartbeat. Calgary could end up looking really stupid here in the long run. In fact, I almost guarantee it.

Years from now Calgary fans will look at this as the day their future contender status died.
Lots of mental gymnastics from Canuck and Oiler fans today.

I understand the hype, he's very young and productive. I'm just scared we give him huge contract that would result in a decline similar to what happened to phaneuf or komisarek. So far he is not better than Brodie and should not get more money. Offensive skills are there, turnovers too and he lacks physical play at all. He is still a project even though on a very good trajectory.

Rumors are he is looking for $5.5-6M. The flames should lock him up for 6-8 years at that price. Hamilton really showed the Gockey world he was legit when Chara went down. He faced the tough minutes and had his best season ever.

If we sign him long term under 6 million this will go down as one of the best deals ever.
We already have TJ Brodie tied up for 4 more years at one of the best contracts in the NHL. Locking up Hamilton to a deal like that will allow us to make a splash in free agency to add the missing link to challenge for the Cup.
Adding a player of this calibre and making tweaks to the systems we should be a pretty good offensive team next season with more control in the offensive zone.
