BAH - I'd rather the Oilers stayed focused on Talbot (obviously)! 
Gibson is someone I've had my hopes on for the Flames - him or Jones, but since Jones already went to Boston...

You have to think the Oilers would have to give up at least Eberle. Gibson would attract quite a lot of interest from other teams imo.

I'm confused as to why chicago has been so silent.
Somebody mentioned in another thread that they are waiting for free agency to see who loses out. Not a smart strategy to me, but obviously they are far smarter then I.

And the Leafs would be smart to do so.
Kessel at $8 million is a little iffy, Kessel at $6 million looks much better.
If he can get back to his 30-35 goal form then that isn't that bad at all.
Issue is retaining salary just means that they will want a big return then.
He wasn't great in Toronto last year but he did have 3 good seasons before that and put up great numbers while playing with poor centers, and as a scoring winger that is a pretty big miss.

A 6 million Kessel would be amazing on this team. Push it hard, maybe they eat 3 mill?
Poirier, 1st, Seiloff for Kessel, 2 mill retained. Would look really good with Mony and Johnny.

i'll admit it, i wasn't interested in Kessell.
But if his cap hit was $6,000,000, it really got my attention. Even if it you can get them to keep $2.25 per season and get that # under $6, i'd be willing to give up a lot from our prospect pool.

^ Even at 6 M i think it eats too much cap up. He also does not exactly fit in with the culture here. Big pass.
