Just out of curiosity, to what extent could tampering be implied if he actually did sign right now with the Flames? Wouldn't it seem too obvious that the Flames maybe talked to him prior to becoming a UFA?
Just thinking aloud here.

Money is irrelevant as he can't make any more than the cba allows. He can make up his mind after 1200 edt as to where he wants to play and it's done. Don't see any tampering charges that can be laid.

We find out when he actually signs, it might not even be this month. Nothing says he has to sign immediately. If his agent is smart they will take their time and speak to the management teams of teams interested and find out what their plans for Hayes would be, unless of course he has his heart set on a certain location which I don't think he does.

Guess that means nothing today. Wonder if there will be a stake out similar to when Brad Richards became a UFa and eventually signed with the rags. Be interesting to know who we are up against (apart from teams already mentioned) and if there are any wild cards.
Wonder if we will see any action from the other unsigned ncaa prospects today.
