Do not want.

Very plain and boring. Also to country. I want to drop that stigma about Calgary.

Using the Calgary flag jersey as an alternate would be pretty sweet. They work as a different jersey from the primaries, has meaning to the city, and most importantly, is simple/nice. I would actually be tempted to buy those.

What stigma? It's called heritage and history. The Stampede and city just celebrated 101 years.

I think our "Western" heritage is something that needs to be embraced, and kept as part of what makes Calgary.....Calgary.

Calgary is known for it's small town feel, western hospitality, and great civic pride. It was what attracted so many people to love this city during the 1988 Olympics.

I hate that so many people want to get rid of that western culture, just so we can become another big city like all the rest.

That's why we have the Stampeders and the Stampede. Let our hockey team keep its dignity.

If anything from a good handful of posters on this board I propose
Calgary Over Dramatics
Or Calgary Divas

Almost every thread I read, talk about blowing everything out of proportion.

So integrate the Flaming 'C' somehow with the hat.

No one calls the Canucks the "Orcas" when they have it on their jersey. The cowboy hat part of our western heritage and history. SuperMatt18 put it quite well.

Dignity? What's so bad about Calgary's western heritage and history?

You can honor and respect our "western heritage" without putting a cowboy hat or a horse on a jersey.

I'm really not sure why a hat has anything to do with western hospitality.

^ another example off the top of my head is Boston's logo, The b with crossroads. they are still the Bruins, not the Bs or the Crossroads etc

Yeah, because we don't get hit over the head with that stuff all the time anyways.

Calgary is actually much, much more than just horses and cowboy hats, and everything "western". The sooner people embrace that, the better off this city will be. I hate that so many people want to pigeonhole the city and all its citizens into that identity. It holds the city back.

Calgary - the Stampede - the Mountains = Edmonton

I dislike hokey rhinestone cowboy "culture" as much as anyone, but to take it away from Calgary is a step toward Edmonton-ness.

Calgary flag or the WHA Cowboys inspired unis is a good idea for a 3rd jersey
