Giants in tough, 3rd and 16 deep in their own territory and the 49ers are getting so much pressure up front that any play that long to develop could lead to a big mistake

If Manning can lead the Giants to a score here, where does this rank him?

seriously though, he's good. I hate to say it. But the thought of him having 2 superbowl rings and his brother only 1 makes me wanna hurl.

I don't want to start being "that guy" right away but why not think about kicking off in overtime if you're the Giants? SanFran not moving the ball at all....

Cuz a touchdown ends the game period, even under the new rules

San Francisco has a good return game don't they?

As well as a good punter so even if you get a 3 and out you could still get a poorish field position.

Not sure if I want to take the chance of a defender falling down on the wet grass and losing without touching the ball having the option.

If a TD didn't automatically end it and I had a shot to match perhaps you do it but no way with TD ends it rule.

So NYG only need a FG here to win and end it, correct?

I understand that but I don't like the chances of Smith driving the field for a TD. Yes there is the 'Tebow" factor that a defense just sells out and looses the game but I'd have confidence in my D. This is rather irrelevant now I guess though.

Great day for the NFL and as Chris Mortensen just tweeted, had it not been for Cundiff missing that field goal, we could have had two overtime games today to go to the Superbowl
