I haven't read this whole thread yet, but has anyone considered that Barb Higgins may have taken the dump in the plaza to put the heat on Nenshi in the next election down the road?

I support Cory and his one man protest.
I don't support anyone holding a occupy wallstreet protest in Canada.
and i DON't support people who are out there just to take advantage of something. - which i would imagine are most at Olympic Plaza.

It probably wasn't her because it wouldn't smell.

The mayor has frankly done a masterful job of handling this.
The public no longer supports the protest. Nobody's head got cracked. There has been no violence. One of the camps just shut down on it's own.
As a politician, there isn't anything more you could ask for. He's been perfect thus far, and all he has to do to resolve the entire issue, is continue to wait.
I'd be surprised if most of Calgary doesn't support him after this.

I think he's been a little too soft on this. I'm not advocating cracking skulls, or arrest or tear gas. But I question why they haven't been writing up tickets for the illegal camping. Especially during the time that there was two camps.
I understand the rational behind the 100% hands off approach, I just don't agree with it. They could have made the plaza a lot less comfortable with things like flood lights, sirens & tickets. But they opted to wait the squatters out.
Like I said, I understand why they did it, I just don't agree with it.
