Played a lot more yesterday. Finally decided to spend my stardust on my Dragonite, and a Snorlax I hatched last night.
About halfway through Level 27.
Dragonite - 2490
Snorlax - 2161
Vaporeon - 2069
Gyarados - 2039
Snorlax - 1999
Poliwrath - 1993
Gyarados - 1978
Arcanine - 1959
Lapras - 1948
Vaporeon - 1902
I want to take a day off but I can't. Haha.

I speculated on same theory, but my experience is that it doesn't work that way. Gf and I each got a 10km egg the other day from completely different places (no where near water Pokémon spawn) that both hatched to Lapras. If it's not random, nothing I have looked at suggests any pattern.
Good luck!

You probably already know, but for Blastoise, hit confederation park at 10st. Park 8 stalls in on the southern-most row of spaces and you'll get a squirtle there. Walk on either side of the tunnel for 300m on the hour and you'll come up with 5+.
Don't know if it's a nest, but my Gloom needs another 11 candies to get to Vileplume. Most of oddishes are from the Bow Valley Ranche triple lure.
Parking lot at Kinsmen park (strathmore) has a triple lure spot. Scooped a strange number of machops and mankeys there. Again, not sure if it's a nest for Machamp candy, but I must've taken down 6 in an hour.
I'm resisting the urge to hit those pokevision type sites that still work. More fun to blindly follow the running herds.
|
Thanks for the confederation park tip, i got 5 there in 45 mins at lunch today. Have enough to evolve straight to Blastoise now.

Got my 100km walked medal today, just under a month after I started playing.
Also noticing a recent weight loss, and I can't go walking without a belt anymore...

Yessir. Funny thing is I have 4 Vaporeons in my top 6 who are stronger than most of these guys, but they're essentially duplicates so I don't really count them. Too many water types in the downtown area of the city, not enough fire types.

Gah - I went over there yesterday at 6 on the dot and got nothing in a half hour. Guess I'll try again.
What size of Magicarp is required for these large Gyrados? I'm getting close to 400 candies, but my largest Magicarp ever is a whopping 142 or something.

165 Magikarp to a 1737 Gyarados -> powered it up to 2039
188 Magikarp to a 1978 Gyarados
10.5x multiplier both times.
So a 142 Magikarp would be around 1500.

We walked both loops to get 5. Some didn't show up on the nearby but appeared when we got close. They seemed to be concentrated reasonably close to 10th on both sides of the tunnel.
That is a super nice park I didn't know existed before this game.

Hatched a Sandshrew from a 5k egg. Never seen that in the wild, so that was a nice surprise.

I've seen a doduo and dodrio in the NE industrial parks. Only managed to catch the second though.
