That’s not the point. I can tolerate an Oilers fan. I wouldn’t like him here, but would tolerate him. This user IS actually trolling, on purpose. Check the Kulak thread.

Nah let them mill about. If we got rid of all trolls we would never have had those great Oilerisms like:
Conklin is as good as Brodeur
or
I can seriously see 600 goals and 1300 points in his future (in regards to Robbie Schremp)
or
Oilers have 5 Giordano's
or
Yakupov is a generational talent like Bure
There is reason we are 6 threads, with millions of views, into the Oilers are no good franchise

Yeah the start of their season is brutal after their comfortable preseason at home. The hype train will be off the rails in a smoking heap before it's even left the station. I'd take China in the preseason every day over starting the regular season in Europe then the east coast.

There's a difference between an clueless fan and a deliberate troll.
I must admit I love my daily humour moments of reading Staples Edmonton Herald articles, and his latest one was a winner right from the headline. "Anaheim Ducks claim Pontus Aberg from Edmonton Oilers. Addition by subtraction?"
I know Aberg was nothing to write home about, and I can't say I would be interested in him for the Flames, but when the Oilers first picked him up everything was golden, and he was huge potential for a 4th. Now, a day after he is claimed it is "addition by subtraction" time in Edmonton. And the hype machine roles on.

Are there any Oilers home games open for a playoff-lock banner ceremony? I know there's one game open next month but they need that one so they can raise their "Went one night without raising a banner" banner.

It's as if they can do no wrong this time of year. Everything that happens is either excusable or a huge win or anywhere in between.
Playoffs are suddenly impending again, roster fodder become budding stars on the brink, mcdavid is poised to break records from the 80s and the previously incompetent GM who urinated away multiple great assets is now actually helping the team by losing another asset for nothing!
Saturday the Flames dominate early and the play by play team make sure to remind everyone several times that the impending flight has the oilers distracted and uninterested. Smith poops the bed and they tie it, and suddenly we don't hear anything about it again.
The pig has more make up than Johnny Depp in a Disney flick. Making what's to follow all the more entertaining.

I don’t get all the banner talk... I was at the Dome and there were banners there too.

You raised a banner for winning an internet poll.
Let that sink in.
You also raised a banner for Garth Brooks.
It is a pathetic display particularly for an organization that has actual banners to be proud of.
An internet poll.
Seriously.

I get the Garth Brooks one. But the other one?
Honestly I did not know that. Yup I’d make fun too. Carry on.

Truly one of my favorite things i have ever read on this site.
And I believe the guy that made that claim actually is now part of the coaching staff in Edmonton...as an analytics "genius".
