Canucks did nothing of consequence. I love it! Hope they are 9th in the west!

Rakell to the pens? Just keep sending everyone out East. This has been a great trade deadline.

Don't know a tonne about Ryan Carpenter, seems very Brad Richardson-esque

He's better than Richardson. Quite a bit better.

No out of left field trade today which is surprising.

Really loving that almost all of the big trades involved players going to the East. I hope the East just tears itself apart.

Flames won the deadline. And they did it before deadline day even started.

Wow, really expected a buyers market this season. Flames did well to get their guys early. Liking the Carpenter pickup as well, pushes Ritchie to 14th forward which is ideal IMO

Flames did really well and got the best narrative cast of characters also.

A Teapot, an Iron Hook and a Carpenter walk into a bar....

Oilers will get a chance to put their money where their mouth is tonight and tomorrow. 2 losses and the future looks bleak again.

And really nothing of significance from the Flames’ most likely 1st round opponent. The Preds added some depth D-men in Lauzon and Biega. But not much else.

Hopefully Minnesota and MAF stay in the Central race to battle in round 1 with St. Louis. I think that’s the only deal today that was potentially “problematic” for the Flames in round 1.

I think Minnesota will be a tough out. They were missing Greenway and Dumba when we faced them and have them back. Adding Deslauriers and Middleton for depth grit will make them a very tough well balanced team. Not to mention improving their goaltending.

I think a Calgary vs Minny playoff round would be a joy to watch! (with Calgary coming out on top, of course)

Colorado definitely got harder to play against but I don’t see any other team in the west who really loaded up. I liked Minny’s pickups of Jost and Fleury but the major moves happened out east and that is good for the Flames.
