Dude it fkn rules. Pure magic. If you have a few stubborn pounds to lose it's a no-brainer. I love that I lost that weight that had been building a few pounds at a time over the last decade. It's all gone now. I look better and I feel better. My goal was to use it to change my habits (like eating a popcorn bag at the movies a couple times a week, buying a bag of chips here and there, eating too-large portions, etc.). It made it all so easy to do.

Carrying around that extra weight is so bad for you and all your organs. Now I'm just carrying on with the smaller portions and so far I haven't gained anything back and I've been off Ozempic for weeks. I even lost a bit more, which I didn't intend to do, so I had to start eating more just to maintain where I want to be...don't want to develop an eating disorder over here lol.

As for the price, it was $200/month (not covered by my plan). I saved that and so much more by not going to movies, not going to the Keg, not randomly eating out, etc.

Weaned myself off over the course of a month and didn't notice any side effects or anything bad. Just eased off and was done.

Highly recommend. When I see overweight people now, I just think, 'wtf are you doing? there's a cure for this.'

Ozempic is pretty good if you tolerate it and can afford it and/or can get it covered (i.e. if you are type II diabetic due to weight it might be covered).

For me it helped me lose about 25lbs.. like Sliver said it really helps when changing habits. It reduces the cravings and the need to eat and makes better choices a lot easier. And when you do eat you feel full faster.

That said when they tried to up my dose at one point after being on a stable dose for quite a while I reacted badly and ended up in emergency completely dehydrated and needed like 4L of saline. And going back to the previous dose didn't work either.

Ultimately I had to lose a lot more than 25lbs so I got bariatric surgery and lost 130lbs, so Ozempic didn't work for me to lose that much.

But yeah would say Ozempic is worth a try, I would certainly consider it again if I felt I was starting to gain back what I've lost.

Wife’s on Ozempic for a couple reasons and she’s almost down to her ideal weight… I’m going to need it because I’m eating my regular meals as well as the half of hers she’s not interested in finishing. I’m basically the garbage can for her leftovers.

Movie review… Conclave was almost really good, but the ending didn’t live up to the build up.

I’m Still Here is enraging, especially in our current political climate where authoritarianism is becoming more prevalent. It starts so beautifully though, and I couldn’t respect the protagonist’s efforts to keep it that way any more.

There's been a 'cure' for obesity forever.

You are 'correct'!*

*Except I knew what you were implying and you're a dick for doing that. You clearly don't understand the problem.

I'm hosting a screening and panel discussion for Gregg Araki's THE LIVING END tomorrow night.
So if you find yourself in Edmonton, come on down.

Someone go fight the good fight somewhere else wouldja? Unless it's related to the message from The Substance a conversation about a weight loss drug doesn't need to ruin this thread.

Unfortunately, obesity can't simply be solved by a simple caloric deficit or balance. There are a myriad of reasons why losing weight and/or maintaining a healthy weight is not only difficult, but in some cases impossible without some kind of medical intervention.

There will always be people looking for the miracle, quick-fix drug to lose those pounds, but for a lot of people this is a cure to a major problem not just for themselves, but for society as a whole.

I think Cali is saying your remark is flippant and simplistic, and implies people are just too dumb or lazy to be healthy when that's just not the case.

We screened Mishima last week, and it rules.
And really makes one think that most Schrader characters are just Mishima.

No one will hate you for it. The Mummy and The Mummy Returns are two of the best action adventure movies ever.

Returns is worth it just for Imotep's delayed "No!!!" at the very end. So bad and classic.

Returns also launched the film career of the most-important actor of the 21st Century... The Rock.

There's no reason to be embarrassed about enjoying one of the best summer blockbusters of all time.

They're trying to find the real Imhotep's tomb in egypt, chancellor of the pharaoh Djoser and speculated architect of the infamous step pyramid.

I always wisecrack saying that's probably a bad idea, didn't the Mummy warn us about unearthing him?
