Dammit, I missed all the fun. Maybe I should just start sending off PMs to random users to see what will happen. Is springs1 still hanging around?

Lindholm for Makar straight across, has to happen now to make sense.

With Fantilli speaking out, and Roslavic injured, do you think there's a chance to Columbus makes a move to improve?
I still see CBJ as the perfect landing spot for Lindholm as a veteran leader and to help Johnny and Laine out.

Lindholm isn’t helping himself with his indifferent play.
Is Columbus willing to gamble on signing lindholm to the term being thrown out there? Current regime is on thin ice so not sure if ownership is on board.
I like the possibility but Columbus needs to be willing to take that risk in lindholm and be willing to give up what we need in order for this to go through.

Lindy to Columbus makes too much sense. Which is why I think it won’t happen

It really only makes sense if Lindholm will sign there.

You know what we’re probably not talking about enough?
How lucky we are Lindholm didn’t take any of the contract offers from the Flames.
Dude is on pace for 47 points.
82 points.
64 points.
47 points?
Yeah, better pay that guy $8-$9M per year.
This “patient” approach with Lindholm has undoubtedly devalued the player. How could it not have? A pattern of regression is actively being established. What do you get for a .5’ish centre?

That is what Horvat is basically and he got a haul. I am not too worried about it. If it was just Lindholm then I would be but the entire forward group is doing terrible and pretty easy to defend.

Yeah, Horvat’s return is probably a good indicator. So somewhere around a lottery protected 1st + former 2nd + cap dump?
That seems fine by me.

Except when Horvat got traded he was having his best year and over a PPG
Recent performance matter a lot. Performing at 0.5 PPG if it continues will absolutely have an impact on his trade value (after a down year last year as well)

Horvat was on a 90 pt pace and back to back 30 goal when he was traded. Kinda like Kadri. Career contract year.
I doubt people are lining up to pay Lindholm asking price of 9M if that is true. Huge obstacle to do sign and trade. He may end up as a pure rental which has much lower return
Sure you can make a case and argue just like Kadri but not everyone is as stupid as Treliving and he is capped out
Btw, they didn’t get much for Horvat so I think a 1st and some dispensable player is doable for Lindholm

I still think a GM pays Lindholm 8-8.5 if he hits free agency and the number he is willing to sign for with the Flames is different than what he is willing to sign for with another team.
He will get a 1st + b prospect and some salary. Anyone who was thinking Johnson was coming back was dreaming to begin with. If he is willing to sign in Columbus then they might get Sillinger + 1st

Agreed, Lindholm definitely has value. My guess the other GMs will think his lack of production (so far) is a Flames thing,

Taking a while to get to 5000

GMs won't look at this year and conclude that Lindholm is useless. They might take a look at his production since Gaudreau & Tkachuk left his wing and determine his value based more off of that however. Still, I'd think most GMs would be excited to get a guy who can potentially gel with their star players for less than he would have commanded a few years ago and with the potential to sign him for less than he would have made as well.

Yeah someone may pay in FA, there is always an idiot
But nobody will pay assets to trade for him
But your price is about right. That’s basically price for a rental. Low first and some middling players/ prospects

Scoring Winger

It’s telling, Columbus loses a forward for 4-6 weeks in Roslovic and they call up a dman. Kent Johnston is clearly in the dog house right now. Really hope they are knocking on that door.

Yeah, but the Islanders didn't pay the price for a #1 PPG center in trade or contract value.
