Oh what a sheltered life you've led lol. My wife's sister and her husband live in the Kootenays and they are practically a caricature of crazy lefties. Some highlights:
- Wi-fi is 'terrible' for you though they can't explain how or why. They dutifully turn off their router every night so the wi-fi signals don't fry their brains while they sleep.
- Vaccinations spread not only autism but cancer, AIDS and pretty much everything.
- Lots of obvious ones: Chemtrails, gmo's, homeopathy, 9/11.
- Microwaves 'kill' your food.
- They believe in the nonsense spewed by David Wolfe, Food Babe, etc.
- They once considered moving because of Fukoshima. Keep in mind they live in BC, over 8 hours from the ocean.
- She shared an article recently about how most unexplained chronic illnesses are actually 'chronic Lyme disease' whose existence is denied by shadowy government agencies.
- Another recent one was the government uses fluoride to 'turn off' the pituitary gland which of course is responsible for human intuition.
- Everything is evil corporations, corrupt governments, corrupt scientists, conspiracies, new world order, WHO, etc.
They use anecdotal evidence to prove their points and ad hominem attacts if you disagree. The worst part is they think this sort of thinking makes them more open minded and enlightened than other people. They are otherwise good, fun, hard-working people and I love them to death but so much face palm.

Don't worry, it can be easily cured with marijuana and kale smoothies.

Sounds delicious. Might be better with a bit of quinoa for texture.

Did you know Global Warming is a female conspiracy? Not if it is happening or not, but that they are the cause of it. They have motive. Women are always cold, and want men to turn up the heat. Men didn't so they found another way. Hairspray? Causes global warming. First they tried with minivans, but that wasn't enough so the soccer mom's upgraded to SUV's. It's a conspiracy.

No no, quinoa is sooooo two years ago. Don't you know that bourgeois hipster vegans and fat cat exporters robbed Andeans of their staple food creating mass malnutrition and starvation?

Well, in fairness to marijuana, in limited studies it does seem to have some cancer fighting abilities, but it's so hard to study because it's a schedule 1 drug.

back on topic...
Quote:
Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump apologized on Thursday for past remarks that "may have caused personal pain" as he sought to refocus his message in the face of falling opinion poll numbers in his first speech since shaking up his campaign team this week.
"Sometimes, in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don't choose the right words or you say the wrong thing," Trump told a crowd in Charlotte, N.C. "I have done that, and I regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain. Too much is at stake for us to be consumed with these issues."

Is that what he's going with? "Whoops"? Hold on to your seats, folks. We are about to see a kinder gentler Trump. This could be even better than angry fabricating Trump.

"Sorry for being an a**hole. I'm under a lot of pressure. It's hard up here."
Yeah. Thats why you're incredibly unqualified for the position.

Exactly! If you can't stand the heat then get out of the kitchen.
Trump is self distructing and making it a lot easier for Clinton to win the Presidency.

In other news. The craziest guy in this election is probably Jill Steins running mate.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajamu_Baraka
Talks lots about US false flag operations and looks like a huge conspiracy theorist. Eg . The Malaysian flight was shot down by the US to blame Russia. That the vigil for the Charlie Hebdo murders were a "white power March". Etc.
Quote:
In February 2016 during the Democratic Party presidential primaries, Baraka wrote that "[i]n this period of media-driven pseudo-opposition in the form of Ta-Nehisi Coates, Beyoncé, or even Bernie Sanders, it is increasingly difficult to make the distinction between image and reality, especially when the production of images and symbols is controlled by dominant forces with an interest in keeping us all stupid."[41] In September 2015, he said that "the world that a President Sanders promises—continued war crimes from the sky with drone strikes and Saudi led terror in support of the Western imperial project."[7] He has referred to Obama and the Sanders campaign as "a tacit commitment to Eurocentrism and the assumptions of normalized white supremacy."[7]

I don't tweet, but mine would be:
'A guy who's always dressed in some pretty ethnicky robes and won't tell anyone his name, along with his Mexican buddy, they blow up a bridge and desecrate the graves of american veterans. Pretty-much the future, folks.'
