I think it's time he gets that cell phone "stolen".

No doubt. I really wonder if he used a half gig in a week. Could it be he was looking at his overall total usage?
If you are taking a laptop to vegas just so you can download torrents over 3g you deserve a $25,000 bill.

Where did you get that number from. I found this:
U.S. roaming is $0.006 per KB and international roaming is $0.03 per KB when you subscribe to a Data plan. If you subscribe to a Flex rate data plan, the U. S. roaming is $3 per MB and international roaming is $0.03 per KB". If you subscribe to unlimited on-device browsing rate, both the U. S. roaming and international roaming is $0.03 per KB
https://www.rogers.com/web/content/w...one_data_plans
Which is 500 x 1024 x .006 = $3072
Still a kick in the pants, but not nearly as bad.

I probably got the rate for non-data plan roaming. Still, 3 grand is way better than 500mb of data.

Looks like the iphone dev-team is going to be releasing a soft unlock for the 3G phone in the new year.

We have been working hard on a few other things. The main one being the 3G unlock codenamed “yellowsn0w”. This is now completed and is currently being packaged into a user-friendly application with the simplicity that you see in QuickPwn or BootNeuter.

There are ways around it, of course.

I have a microfiber cloth. You can by small ones at London Drugs that come with some spary for about $10. The cloth works great. I don't even need to use the spray. I hope that helps.

Please help. I can't figure out how to set a photo as wallpaper on my iPhone. I go to Settings and touch on Wallpaper, touch on Camera Roll and touch the photo I want. Once the photo is sized and positioned, I touch on Set Wallpaper but it takes me back to Settings. How do I save the photo as my wallpaper? What am I doing wrong?

I just go through Camera Roll, choose the picture, click on the little swoosh arrow on the left hand side, and choose "Set to Wallpaper".

Make sure your iPhone isn't being charged at the time, because no wallpaper seems to show up when it is plugged in. As soon as you unplug it, the background appears.

I have one of those protective covers on my screen. I never need to clean it.
The protective cover makes the screen matte though, so if you like shinny, then that isn't good. But I haven't noticed any touch performance decrease, so I'd say get one of those! Easy to stick on too.

Just so you are aware the wallpaper goes on the lock screen, not the main screen with all the apps on it. My wife was a little confused at first that when she realized when you change the wallpaper you aren't actually changing the black background.
I believe you can change the black background with an app you can get from the "special" app store when you jailbreak your iphone.

Yes I realized this shortly after I posted. I first thought the wallpaper would fill the main screen so that's what I was asking about but then realized that is was only on the lock screen. Thanks.
I guess if the wallpaper went on the main screen with the apps, the apps would cover up almost all of the wallpaper, which'd be a waste.

So, I can't say I have read the 1000 + posts in this thread, but I did try to do a search and didn't see my question. So here goes:
Is there any (legit) way to buy an iPhone and not be tied to a 3 year contract? I haven't been on any contract for a cell phone in years and I really don't want to go back onto one now.
