It wasn’t just being caught on a hot mic. This was happening the entire broadcast, so for about 45 minutes that I was listening. Instead of ads, you could hear their mics.

I have noticed this year, being in the US, that the broadcast of the game itself is almost always blocked. In fact, listening to 960 on Tune In can be hit or miss.

Happened a few years ago to me when I was doing a Roughnecks game on the radio. They were also using it as the web cast and we didn't know that during the breaks people online could hear us.
Apparently during a break I made a non flattering comparison between a Roughneck player and Jason Spezza. I have no idea what that comparison was or why it was insulting. After the game, while doing a live podcast, a different (and very scary) member of the Roughnecks marched in an told us that if we were going to talk sh** about any of the players we shoudl do it to their face.


Always consider a mic to be hot. If you forget that - you get scary dudes yelling at you.

Oh I’m glad he’s gone. Listening to his woke bs and getting pissy on air if you didn’t share his views. Hard to listen to him rant for 10 mins and talk down to everyone…

It was offputtingly political, but I loved how he had Peter Maher as a regular. Maher still has some pretty good insight and he's one of the top Flames historians.

When I did colour on a few Hitmen games a few years back, my play-by-play guy advised me before our first game together "Remember, the mic's always hot."

I was working a 2am gig at a former rock station here, in 2006, and I made the mistake of not running the pre programed setlist, and instead played she shook me all night long, for 45 minutes on loop. While my mic was hot. I was on the phone with my girlfriend and I ducked the track at first, but didn't turn it off. Thankfully my friend sent me a text from work and told me.

Also it was his podcast. Not like he was hijacking the station or someone else's show to give rants about (frankly) some important issues the league was mishandling.

Fox News is stupid but voluntarily tuning in and then getting mad at it for existing is kind of silly.

Sure, old man yelling at cloud might not be the best content all the time, but being the old man yelling at old man yelling at cloud is even more counter productive.

And not everything is woke. That's been reduced to a lazy buzzword for people who disagree with what someone else is upset about or disagrees with.

Some things are definitely pushing it and deserve to be called out, but that umbrella had been expanded way too much of late.

I love Barn Burner, but it’s trash for them to post a YouTube thumbnail with Marky/Wolf on the thumbnail with “Be careful what you wish for” as the title.

These guys rightfully have been arguing and debating the new direction for the team, but then slap out a clickbait title like that painting Wolf in that light?

Wills doesn't suck. He's actually a cool guy. Very early on when he first started calling the flames games, he had talked about how his and his wife's dog needed to go to the vet, and you could tell he loves his dog. That makes him a good guy I'm my books.

Animals are awesome, humans on the other hand..
