I think the big difference is that Heatley was not impaired. He and Snyder were racing around in his Ferrari. Whether Snyder was willingly going along with it or not, who knows. The other aspect is that Snyder's family was quite forgiving of Heatley and were not seeking a bigger punishment. If they had, it likely would have affected sentencing.

Actually MacTavish was playing for the Boston Bruins when he drove drunk and killed that woman.

I feel that he is inundated with time. Lots of time on his hand as he waits for a team, any other team, to offer him a contract or tryout.

I think the big difference was that Heatley didn't drive drunk. It was a very unfortunate incidence that two stupid young rich men driving stupidly fast and lost control. He didn't kill any innocent bystander.

You are right. He went to the Oilers right after serving his time in prison.

McDavid will be bolting that tire fire in the very near future.

I agree... that seems like not enough time for killing someone when you're drinking and driving. I think comparing Heatley to MacTavish is apple and oranges. He's lucky they didn't give him way more time.

Definitely an Orange Julius level of rumor, but fwiw I heard (from someone, who heard from someone, who knew someone in the know, etc, etc)... the Flames have made Virtanen a PTO offer as well.
Don't like it other than for Brad swooping in on something the Oilers were looking at... but we'll see if it's even true or not anyway.
Don't send the lynch mob just thought it would be interesting discussion.

Is that as guaranteed as Gaudreau re-signing?

Imagine though if the outcome is the same as Gaudreau.
Mavi tries to get back to his hometown but he only manages to get partway there.
Yup.
Going to Winnipeg.

You take that back.
While McDoesn'tBackCheck will NOT win a Cup, he does not take that title from Iggy.

It has to be soon, training camp is around the corner. And it doesn't seem like teams are all that interested in Foegele or paying anything for poolparty. They still don't have Mcleod under contract either.
If teams were fired up about Barrie they'd have made a move for a soft awful in his own end blueliner.

I mean, Puljujarvi is worth $4-5M right? Teams should be lining up to grab some of that.

It could be that they are waiting for a desperation cap move.

They’re scouring the league for a player to get in return that will retire or need LTIR after the season.

Lol.... good point.... When I read the original quote, I only saw the negative about not winning a cup, I never paid any attention to the "best player" part.
I think everyone on here can assure you that we are giving McDavid only the negative of that statement.
