I think we're all but guaranteed an A level young player and a 1st so I don't think it'll be as bad as some are fretting.

I don;'t think Tkachuk wanting out makes that much of a difference. It's the expiring year and time crunch to get an extension done, and the cost of that extension.
|
Jones had one year left on his contract and he garnered basically 3 first rounders, two of which were top 10 picks. I would take 3 first rounders for Tkachuk.

It was good.. it was just the rumours were out there that it was like Tkachuk plus a 1st round pick so it looked bad in that light.
But the two guys Buffalo got performed pretty much as expected. Tuch has always been good and Krebs was highly regarded. Its not like Tuch made a huge leap in Buffalo. It may be more that Eichel didn't seem to do anything for Vegas.

Sure why not. I'll take it.

What are you saying that when teams are forced to move a player they can't get good value.

Yep,
Remember Duchene (41 pts season) when he was moved...
Avalanche did a great job asset wise
Andrew Hammond · $325,000 (AHL/JR)
Shane Bowers · $0 (Signing Rights)
2019 1st round pick (OTT - #4 - Bowen Byram) [Conditional]*
2019 3rd round pick (OTT - #63 - Matthew Stienburg)
Vladislav Kamenev · $833,333
Samuel Girard · $728,333
2018 2nd round pick (NSH - #58 - Filip Hållander)

Eichel had a broken facking neck and was coming off a 2 goal season not 104 points

We are due for some good news and I am usually quite optimistic…however lately everything seems to come up Dog Shirt.
I would be very happy to be wrong though.

If you think that is brutal then I think you'll be disappointed with the return either way. It's not amazing but brutal is Hall + Carlo lol.
Bratt+Holtz+1st is high side trade value in my opinion.

Why did this info have to come out that he wanted out? Couldn’t that have come out after so his value didn’t potentially go down? I get teams will still bid, and I’m happy that Tkachuk is honest so we can recover something, but the timing stinks.

Lol if the best the Flames could get for a 24 year old former 6th overall who just put up 40 goals and 104 points......is Hall, Carlo and a crappy pick I'm honestly taking a break from fandom.
Since game 2 of the BoA this has been just one long nightmare. From losing 4 straight to the lottery ball dooshbags, to having phantom kicking motions called by crooked league officials, to our best two players abandoning us like we're plague riddled lepers I've reached the end of my rope.
I'm not expecting the other team to give up multiple first line players, high end prospects and 1st round picks. But I'm not expecting to only get other teams overpaid, past their prime garbage either.

He's suffered injuries, including during the playoffs, and hasn't put up his 92 point pace for several seasons. I think, assuming Tkachuk gets a comparable 8 year contract, that Tampa would at least be interested.
They were already going with Stamkos, Point, Kucherov line at points last season. Moving Stamkos back to center with Kucherov and Tkachuk might make some sense. But not sure if Tkachuk would gel well given their speed. And then losing a player who can play center for them hurts their flexibility.
It might also hurt the teams reputation if they sign a player to an 8 year contract then trade him before the NMC kicks in (because Point has one more year of RFA).

I think he'll play for whatever US team will pay him the $$$. Plus, apparently the Tkachuk brothers are friends with the Hughes family, so there's a solid connection there as well.

Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald is also Tkachuk's cousin.

I suspect the Devils will be quite happy to get out of paying Bratt for last season. When he goes back to being the 50 point guy they always thought they had, whoever has him will be disappointed.
