the more this chatter has picked up involving the Flames the more angry Americans and east coasters I see on twitter whining that it's "bad for the growth of the game" to send him out here. I had 2 guys getting angry in my replies, who genuinely believe Flames shouldn't be allowed to trade for this player because nobody knows where Calgary is, Eichel would hate it here, and we're a small market Canadian team. I love it.

Monahan might be the most anti Vegas Knights player in the entire league. I don't see a fit for them to "upgrade" by adding a has been with the footspeed of an elite beer league player and the price tag of a top 6 player.

Heres the thing....I really like Monahan.
The problem is that he gets too badly hurt too often. At some point that is a declining asset that is going to fall off a cliff.
Now...the odd part of it is this: do we trade that asset that is declining due to constant injuries....for a guy that needs neck surgery?
I frankly have no idea what the right thing to do here is. This team does need a game-breaker. A top-end guy who can win you games and make everyone better.
Is that Eichel? Or is Eichel just the only one available right now?
This is going to be one helluva gamble either way.

Monahan ain't that guy anymore, and the beer league reference was clearly a joke - lighten up.
Compared to his peers he's certainly nowhere near a top player in the NHL and would not be an upgrade for Vegas, or most teams in the least. Unless of course they want to upgrade their cap space (or lack thereof)
