I guess I don't watch a lot of council debates. But is Nenshi always so condescending during these meetings? He could have just said "for the sake of limited time, can we try to keep future questions shorter?" Why does he have to show up Carra like that?

Edit: Ok, I take back my comment. Having never watched council debates, guess it's just them joking around on an inside joke.

I know they started First Energy together, but I don't know if they've worked together since he left. They seem like a mismatch to me. Wilson seems like a guy Edwards would not get along with to me (TBF, I've never met Wilson, though I know his ex).

Wilson said this about First Energy, which strikes me as a slight dis:

I met Murray Edwards in second-year university—I was in engineering, he was in commerce—and we developed a lifelong friendship. In 1993, I got together with him and two of the best salesmen, Jim Davidson and Rick Grafton, and we set about selling Canadian oil and gas equities. I was the quarterback at FirstEnergy—the glue that kept it ticking.

I know Wilson has been into crystals and the like. Edwards is super sharp, a real take command guy, and doesn't suffer fools gladly. At least, not in business meetings.

Yeah, everything is relative. Alvin Libin is 88 and Allan Markin is 74. Clay Riddell passed away last year at 81.

News Update

Meghan Potkins @mpotkins
BREAKING: There will be no time extension for more public consultations. The arena vote timing was agreed upon in a tri-party agreement, the city manager has informed council #yyccc in a letter.
Woolley is the kind of person who would stand in line at Starbucks for half an hour and not know what he wants when he gets to the front.

"Hmmm.....I need more time..."

I believe its legal to shoot these people on sight, but I'm no fancy Big-City lawyer...

Hahaha...well timed...Wooley just asked "why does the city need to be involved". Reply was "cause council asked us too".

Too many people watching?

if CSEC tries to break the 35 year lease, they forfeit all rights and privileges to the building and have to pay 5 years of operating costs
