The more I think about it, these stories have to be butthurt BS.
I recall a number of years ago an Oiler fan actually was assaulted by Flames fan(s) it wasn't even anywhere near the arena as I recall. I remember Ken King encouraging law enforcement to catch up with the perp(s) so that they could ensure they were banned from the premises. I know the Flames take security very seriously. Unless I see some evidence, I'm totally checking out on these stories. If you are assaulted, you need to report it to the police. If you want to sensationalize an assault as a hockey story, then nobody can help you.
I was in PL13 last night and didn't see anything bad on that side of the bleeders. There was lots of banter and booing, but I never saw anything physical, or anything that seemed like it was going to escalate. Both fan bases seemed very well behaved, or as well as could be hoped for.
I have a really hard time anyone would spit on an 11 year old. Would like to know what section this person was apparently in.
Was in the last row of 204 and there was nothing in our section.... couple nucks fans that were egging it on (waving arms in the air) got boo'd. Other canucks fans weren't even engaged in heckling.

This. I've never seen a beer poured either (spilled, sure).
I was reading the general HF thread about this series and I found these particularly interesting quotes:
What is going on with the fans in Calgary? Friend of mine took her son to the game (Canucks fan) last night and he was berated to tears, spat on, and had beer dumped on him. HE'S 11!!! She herself was pushed and shoved while going to the bathroom and they ended up leaving early and wasting their money and the poor kid never wants to go to another game.
was your friend's 11 year old son wearing a canucks jersey, 'burrows' on the back, was he rat-faced, and prone to biting? and was he skating for the away team? Cause i think i saw that little puke get a pretty rough ride too.
Wow, seems like the Canucks fans here at work are already talking about how the Canucks "are going to golf soon". One response was "Yeah, atleast they made the playoffs and Boston didn't".

If this is really happening I hope they start throwing these punks out of the saddledome. We don't need our fans disrespecting other fans, it is just a game. I find this really hard to believe that this kind of thing is happening to this extent, but maybe some of the CPers out there have witnessed similar things at the game last night.
"If it is really happening" is the big question. There will always be the odd idiot, but it doesn't seem like anyone here saw anything remotely like what people like that are describing. There is a chance it is all made up in an attention-whorish effort for sympathy. Other than the basic "Canucks suck" stuff, Vancouver fans up in the bleeders where I was were basically ignored.
If someone actually poured a beer on a kid, they would have been escorted out in short order. In the regular season, I've seen some guys have a few too many and start spilling their beer everywhere and those guys are shown the door pretty quickly. I'm pretty sure something intentional would have a similar (and likely more rapid) effect.

I will say the fans in Vancouver treated my buddy and I pretty well and we had a lot of fun jeering back and forth (no insults were thrown though. Just yelling jokes about each team).
Saw a fight break out as we were leaving section 219, but it was probably a few sections further up. Not really sure how it escalated but I heard someone say the Canuck fan got pushed down the stairs. Looked nasty for a minute, but was broken up quickly as people dived in to separate them.
That story about the 11 year old kid is probably fake or greatly exaggerated.
Some fans probably made him cry by cutting down the Canucks and then mama or the little boy came up with the fiction parts as part of a sob story (likely the kid).
Sorry, but you will need to show me a lot more evidence than some anonymous post on HF.
