Yes it is much more honorable to cry and whine your way forcing your team to trade you for nothing rather than doing it all for your team and then leaving as a FA.

Mike Brown will implement his defence, the offense will be running through Steve Nash and the Princeton offense which is what Kobe has wanted. So basically it will be a lot of cutting and pick and rolls running through Howard. This team is going to devastate teams.

Jodie Meeks has also signed 2 years 3 million. Underrated signing, I don't know how but Kupchack has transformed this team from a team in turmoil after being pounded by OKC to being the team to beat. The bench is going to be sick.

Howard
Gasol
World Peace
Kobe
Nash

Bench
Hill
Jamison
Meeks
Clark
Ebanks
Blake
Duhon

THis could potentially be a 66-70 win team.

Strange that he won't discuss signing a contract until he hits ufa status next year. You think he would be happy in being Kobe's protege for a couple years, only to become the franchise player once Bryant retires in 2-3 years.

Instead of just getting the shoe deal in New Jersey, Howard could get that and be the face of the most successful franchise in the league for many years.

Why he is even hesitating in signing a long term deal is very strange indeed.

I don't see an issue. He just got out of an ugly situation, and he hasn't even played a single game in LA yet. I wouldn't expect him to sign long term again until he's comfortable with his surroundings.

He won't sign until he's a free agent it's just economics he gets paid more and more years. Mitch already talked about Howard retiring a laker. He's a laker for life.

He might be a Laker for life. But he's a little bitch, and Kobe is Kobe, he might chew him out enough to hurt little Dwighty poos feelings. I actually think I'll cheer for the Heat against the Lakers, Dwight is truly the worst. Had he done it like Carmelo, made his intentions clear but then went out like a professional and stayed quiet afterwards, he would have maintained a lot of respect. Notice nobody ever talks about Carmelo forcing his way out? Because he handled it well. Dwight acted like a 5-year old, an immature little punk who cries and complains and in the end got what he wanted. The Dwightmare was much worse than the Decision.

You seem upset senator. No way now how do the heat touch ShowTime part 2. This laker team is going to be unreal.

Because Dwight's a coward? You'd be saying the same if he went to Brooklyn (or worse, Boston). LeBron acted like a prick without a doubt, and I still don't like him. But he was a free agent, and while the collusion part can be argued, he was free to do as he pleased, no matter how bad he bungled the process. I don't hate the Lakers anymore than I did before they got Dwight, but I hate Dwight a lot more than when the Dwightmare began. I'd like to see Steve Nash win, but I'd rather see Dwight get crushed instead.

The only reason the Heat "won't touch" the Lakers is because they will be beating the Thunder again in the Finals.

It would be great to see Nash win a ring but pairing with 3 of the biggest scum bags in the league isn't the way to get it down.

Watching Laker fans (some of the worst in sports) crying (or more likely not caring since they are bandwagon fans) when their loser team fails will be great.

I'm just focusing on how much fun it's going to be watching a team with Nash, Kobe, Howard and Gasol. If people though watching Nash, Stoudemire, Marion and Bell was fun... hooo boy. This is gunna be good!

I said it before: This Lakers team would be unstopable in 2006. It's 2012 now, Kobe is on the downside, we haven't seen a full season of Nash without that amazing Phoenix training staff, Gasol is a bit unpredictable and Dwight is coming off back surgery. The Lakers should be the best team in the league, but its not a guarentee.

Oh they will be Nash and Bryant both proved last year they are at the top of there games, and Pau doesn't have the cloud hanging over him anymore. You add in the best defensive player in the game and you will see magic.

The thunder will not make it past the lakers, and the heat won't be back in the finals.

#17 on the way.

Man PeteL you sound like the worst of the worst Laker fans. Kobe proved he was still on top of his game? I think he had 10-15 games where he had more shots than points. If thats the top of his game, he's not in the conversation with Jordan, he's in the conservation with Vince Carter.

He averaged 27 points a game, who else was going to take shots they had sessions and fisher on the point. The bench was horrid, they sit Kobe and any lead disappears.

Now he can play off the ball for the first time, and get easy buckets. Your crazy if you think he will be worse if a urging his offensive efficiency will increase and he use more energy being a top defender he has always been.

With Dwight roaming free, Kobe and world peace will have there freedom defensively.

I just think the options on defense is going to be special, so much potential to really frustrate teams. Dwight Howard might have acted like a big baby, but there is no question about his abilities as a defender, you don't fluke 3 DPY awards with a scrub team like Orlando.

Not sure why the defense would be that special. Gasol and Nash are bad defenders, Bryant is at best average at this point and Artest has lost a step or 4 defensively as well.

Howard will do a good job of cleaning up a lot of the other guys mistakes but scoring against the Lakers shouldn't be that difficult consider the other defenders outside of Howard.

Again if Dwight Howard can carry a group of scrubs to be a top defensive team, he's playing with the best player of all time now and world peace who both are great defenders. They skipped up last year and got shredded, but with Howard the scheme changes.

Obviously we need to beat OKC, with the crap Westbrook pulled in the finals and harden nowhere to be found we can take them. Defending the perimeter will be hard against them, but down low will be easier but they do have supermans kryptonite in Perkins.

Best player of all time?? LOL Jordan is retired, James in on the Heat and the 10+ other guys better than KoMe are all retired as well.

If this was 2004 then Artest may have been a great defender and if this was high school or a defenseless woman then KoMe would have his way with them but in the NBA in 2012 KoMe and Artest are not great defenders and barely average.
