It could just be some confirmation bias after seeing this post, but I think that is definitely Benedict Cumberbatch doing the voice over. He sounded like Smaug for half a second.
It sounded almost exactly like Adam Driver, so my money is on him.
Awesome teaser. Like any good teaser I just want MORE everything! Just based on directing style alone I think this is going to be totally unique to the franchise. It certainly has a more 'adult' look than anything that has come before it.
Am I out to lunch in saying that teaser felt more promising than all three prequels?
The nostalgia was actually there, didn't feel like something different. Classic tatooine, real looking storm troopers (or whatever future version they've cooked up), x-wings, rebels, the millenium, and a really creepy looking sith (let's just disregard the triple bladed saber part). I think Abrams is gonna bring an awesome atmosphere to the saga like he did with Star Trek, while carrying over lots of elements from the original trilogy, which is what people wanted in 1999. We might finally get it.
Fingers crossed for less lens flare, though. I suppose he can't make any promises on that. I mean, what's an epic sci-fi without a ridiculous amount of lens flares? NOT a sci-fi, that's what.

It's hard to judge much from a trailer though. It's hard to put yourself back in the moment, when it was released, knowing what the movie became and what you know about each scene featured.. but at the time The Phantom Menace had an incredible trailer.

I just lol'd pretty hard at this comment on another forum:

I like how the TIE fighters still using the old dog fighting technique of attacking with the sun at your back. This presents a distinct tactical advantage while also supporting optimum conditions for lens flare.

No, you're totally right. The overall aesthetic blows away anything from the cartoony and childish Ep 1-3. Those movies are such a black mark on this franchise its not even funny.
After ep 1-3 and also all the shenanigans in ruining ep 4-6 versions on dvd and blu ray releases, I can actually say Lucas destroyed any enthusiasm I had left for the star wars brand.
But Abrams might actually restore it. I am genuinely excited by that trailer.

Well, that was awesome. The Soccerbot, I watched the background more than the robot itself and the nostalgia came rushing back, looks nothing like the previous three.
I like the changes to the light saber. Not the templar knight look with the side protectors but the texture is something I feel better represents what it would look like in real life. Raw focused energy. Not so refined that it looks like glass, but actually struggling to stay focused because there's so much power being contained. Yup, thats a freakin' light saber
The problem I'm sure everyone thought of upon seeing that lightsaber is that the cross hilt will get sliced off first time you actually use it as a cross hilt.
I counted 2 pieces of leaked concept art in that trailer too.

Spoiler!
Which lends credence to some of the story that has been leaked along side the photos and art. Which means this could be a crazy crazy crazy trilogy. And that Cap may have a seizure due to his own fears being realized.
