Arctic Monkeys new album Suck it and see.. comes out June 6th.
Here is the tittle track:
By far my favourite band. This is their fourth album in six years, not including side projects.
Not sure about that first song, though. The drummer probably shouldn't sing.
Not sure if it's been mentioned in the pages before but has anyone heard The Boxer Rebellion's new album?
"The Cold Still"
Not as good as their last release (Union)......check out "Both sides are even" really good song!! Soaring type album but more suited to winter. Good acoustic version of "Evacuate" also....
According to Matador's announcement, the LP was recorded in Los Angeles and Massachusetts this past autumn and winter; besides Beck, Demolished Thoughts also features contributions from violinist Samara Lubelski, harpist Mary Lattimore, bassist Bram Inscore, and drummer Joey Waronker.
In the meantime, listen to "The Shape Is in a Trance", from Moore's 2007 solo LP Trees Outside the Academy. Thurston Moore: "The Shape Is in a Trance"
The mentioned single from his previous solo LP. Anything involving Sonic Youth gets a listen from me, for sure.

So far, you've released two songs from the album, 'Will Do,' which is sort of a love ballad, and 'Caffeinated Consciousness,' which is maybe more what people associate with TV on the Radio. Are these songs are representative of the album on the whole?
I guess those two pieces cover some broad ground, but I believe the record to be more varied than that. It feels like all the pieces stand on their own as much as they work as an album. I feel like there are some surprises, but I could just be deluding myself.
On their website, TV on the Radio have announced that Gerard Smith, the band's bassist and keyboardist, has been diagnosed with lung cancer. He's currently undergoing treatment, and he won't join the band on their forthcoming run of dates.
The band writes, "Gerard is fortunate enough to have health insurance and is receiving excellent medical care. Already we have seen dramatic results. Combine that with Gerard's legendarily willful disposition and it might just be cancer that has the problem. We appreciate your concern and support for Gerard and his family."

read that it's not going to be released as a single
very excited for a new album from them so quickly though
Alex Turner the lead singer also wrote some songs for a british movie that comes out soon, really like this song from it, a bit different from Arctic Monkeys stuff but very similar to his side project The Last Shadow Puppets, who released a great album a few years ago

New Strokes is really good, very excited. This album just kind of crept on me, I like that.. otherwise I sit here in anticipation absolutely destroying the single or any other leaked songs before it even comes out.

I hope it is good. The SNL performance was underwhelming.

It’s a testament to the better angels of global culture that a bunch of music geeks in Vancouver can grow up to make worldly, magisterial, boldly contoured pop together. And it’s a testament to the better angels of The Salteens that, after a decade as a band and seven years after establishing indie label-of-love Boompa Records, they’ve crafted an album defined by both precision and heart.
Grey Eyes nods towards sophisticated ’60s European and American pop constructionists (Gainsbourg, Bacharach, the other Scott Walker) and brass-tacks workmanlike hit-makers of yore (Tin Pan Alley, the Brill Building), while acknowledging transformative pop heirs from the ’70s and ’80s (Godley & Crème, The Smiths).
