He has gone to say he doubts it.
So it kind of is a complicated question for him, as it is for a lot of people. If following the teachings of Jesus makes you a Christian, then he is. But if you have to actually commit to believing in god or Christ's divinity, then he wouldn't be considered one. Spirituality is complicated, hard to articulate, and deeply personal.
If that show was supposed to be a bona fide card carrying Christian debating atheists, he is probably on the wrong show. Not that I care for Jordan Peterson, but I wouldn't talk to someone using that tone either. That person seemed like he just wanted to cause a scene.

I will forever distinguish the two by asking the question, why?
Why do you not steal?
Is it because it is morally/empathetically wrong?
Is it because you are afraid you will not go to heaven?
I will admit, most people start in column A, but after a while, Column B comes out

What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD. He’s playing with fire!

Yeah the people who believe that you can't be moral without the threat of God's punishment hanging over their head scare me more than anyone else.

What about karma? You don't steal because you will get something stolen back now, not in some make believe afterlife.
Or reincarnation, you will come back a cockroach

Not being immoral is due to empathy in most sane people. You don’t need religion for that, but I guess some people do.

I'd suspect because
a) it looks good at a parole hearing
b) gives them something to do or people to bond with

Did he really say that? Trump is kind of right in a way that he has been really good for Russia, just not in the ways he realizes.

I believe in a creator but am not religious. I don’t think you need God to have morals.

Sorry what do you mean by creator?
A single entity responsible for the creating of all life?

Yes, a “God” or entity that created everything. I don’t believe this just happened. (I expect to be vilified for my belief and won’t argue.)

More like when you go to a park but don't pick all the flowers and cut down all the trees.. because if everyone did it there wouldn't be a park to enjoy anymore.
Society functions because enough people adhere to the mores and norms that allow society to function.
So not really karma (i.e. me stealing means I'll get robbed), more like if everyone did something then I'm more likely to become the victim of that thing (regardless of if I engaged in that thing).
I guess on the flip side of my comment about people fearing God's punishment there's also people who don't do things because they fear society's punishment.
I mean there's things I'd be perfectly fine doing because I don't think they cause any harm even if everyone else did them safely but I don't do it because I fear punishment (a ticket or whatever). Such laws I guess exist because we can't be trusted to do those things safely.

That's the actual quote including the caps. Putin is his idol and he's suddenly pissed that Putin is openly mocking him and having a childish tantrum.
Dictators often fall in love with other dictators, but it's not mutually exclusive.
Stalin looked up to Hitler from the day he took power, so much so that even while the Soviet Union was being invaded, he refused to believe it.
Trump is a beta male who's realizing little by little that he isn't an alpha like his idol.
Now even Russia Today is openly mocking Trump's beta male syndrome.
