Zary's numbers are very good with Backlund and Coleman and not so good with Lomberg and Klapka. Can't play center with Backlund and Coleman, but maybe he might do better at center with someone other than Lomberg and Klapka.
Not many players are showing they are top 6 on this team right now.

I wouldn't be making any decisions on any young players based on the current team.
This is not currently a good situation to succeed.

Power doesn't have any sort of trade protection until 2029 and he's signed until 2031, so Flames could acquire him without him having any say in the matter.

Ras has had a for sale sign around his neck for months. What is this patiently waiting to engage stuff?

Yeah, I'm not sure why Conroy isn't shopping Ras hard right now.
Now if he said that Conroy is hoping the offers improve, that's another thing.
But it sounds like Conroy is waiting to see if Calgary gets back into the playoff race?
But it really sounds like sloppy reporting more than anything.

I'm really curious when it comes to Kadri's value in a trade.
He is still a great player, has some bite and obviously cares. Would it be possible to perceive that his value is similar to that of Brock Nelson when he was moved last season ?
Essentially bringing back two firsts (would be equivalent to late firsts) would be a great addition for the team moving forward.

No matter what the flames do, sell assets to win now, or sell assets for the draft, I will be furious.
Am I doing this right?

I am not sure why Coleman’s name is not coming up when talking about moving vets?
If Kadri’s contract is indeed in a spot where he can only submit 13 teams then that is an interesting situation to monitor. Full NMC I am holding onto him unless a team makes an insane offer.

I think that indicates that the asking price is too high.
Conroy already said he won't lose players for nothing, and rasmus won't re-sign here when we suck so bad.
That means that hes going to be traded for something by the tdl. There's no rush to acquire him yet.
There's more downwards pressure on price for Rasmus than upwards.

Coleman, Kadri, Andersson are probably the most requested names when teams call CGY.
Add Frost to that mix most recently (center depth a commodity right now)
You just dont hear his name come up in the videos so much because its not flashy imo.

Moving Frost means Zary can play C full time. Moving Backlund down also allows for that but trade wise this isn't the worst idea. Frost's extension is what, 2 years?

NHL simply doesn't trade this early in the season whether Flames want to or not
US thanksgiving is the earliest it will occur even then I doubt it

Unless you're willing to absolutely give away good players. I'm sure plenty of teams would take Kadri or Andersson right now for future considerations or even a 7th-round pick. Does the tank crowd approve?

I could see Conroy possibly looking at moving Andersson for mid-20s offensive player, but even that is questionable for him. Maybe if he realized that Andersson value isn't all that high and the other option is a handful of 2nd/late 1st and mid prospects.
The Flames also need to make room in their forward group for sed young offensive player. Maybe move Coleman too? Or a package deal that attempts to upgrade on a player like Zary/Coronato?
I honestly don't see what moves the Flames can make that upgrade on players like Sharangovich, Frost, and Farabee? Seems like there's a log jam of these guys and adding another isn't going to solve the problem. The Flames just end up with another one of those guys creating even more of a log jam.
At this point it could be just part of an act for the owners/fans to avoid the "rebuild" label, even though that's what's going on.

Or that the offers are simply too low. As Friedman noted no team is willing to throw a lifeline - only an anchor. Just need to be patient either way as time is one thing we currently have. At least until the trade deadline. I hope we get some good returns though, adding another first or two for the upcoming draft would be nice for the rebuild/not rebuild.

Exactly. Anderson and Coleman are here until closer to the trade deadline. Get used to it folks.
