Chychrun trade hang up is they won't take any contracts back unless they are on ELCs.
So far teams have been trying to get Arizona to take back money.
There is growing pushback to scratching players for "trade related reasons" when a trade isn't imminent.
Next couple of games is critical for the Preds.
If they don't go on a heater to save their playoff hopes, they will be willing to listen on almost anyone

Wonder if Niederieter would be of interest to BT and crew?

I am trying to understand why Treliving loves this guy so much (if insiders are to be believed), and he's not bad but jeepers that's a lot of money and term. I'd be pretty bummed to see a 1st + go out the window for him (and then instantly excited, only to then !@#$% about it a year or two from now).

Not surprised…
Realize there’s GM speak there, but treliving sounded pretty confident in this group on ten today.
It sucks that the “up & down “ flames are in a down year this year, when the west is probably at its weakest.
On that note, ken holland should be fired if he doesn’t trade for deadline boosts every year for the next 3 years.

Only way Pelletier for Andersen makes sense to me is if we get a 1st in addition and his salary is retained 50%. If the Habs want $2.75M in dead cap and give us our 1st back from the Monahan deal to get Pelletier then I can understand it. I don’t love it but I could live with it.

Wouldn't that just make the "insiders" look like dinks

Flames could just as easily be looking at Edmundson and/or Savard as well.

I just looked up Anderson's contract. It's pretty brutal and he has term (signed until 2027). The Flames are gonna be stretched thin for cap space next year too. I don't know how a trade for him would work

Both of those would be worse in my eyes. Significantly.

This is the only time I think this cliche is applicable.

I wish the Flames were in on a guy like Timo Meier. He could do really well here.

Would the Habs really take Coleman though? Especially if the rumor of them being offered a 1st for him and turning it down are true. I'd imagine they'd be looking for picks and/or prospects in exchange for Anderson, not another veteran forward
