So what's the best way to get tickets and get a seat if I want to see this movie tomorrow or this weekend? I've heard of people buying tickets in advance with assigned seats... is that only for IMAX?

No you can also get reserved seats for non-IMAX at Chinook. Go online and buy them now if there are any left.

Saw the preview at Chinook last night. No spoilers, but I will definitely see it again in IMAX. They were only showing it on a regular screen last night, and some of the visuals were so striking I want to see them again as they were meant to be seen.

Great story, despite a couple of loose ends. And for a 2.5 hr + movie, the pacing was exceptional. Nolan really keeps things going along nicely.

If DK is considered a great superhero movie, DKR is a great movie, period. A lot more character development.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hang on here. You're saying Rush Limbaugh said something completely over the top and stupid?

The funny thing to me about TDK is that, while I think it's awesome, without the visuals and the performance by Ledger, it's actually a pretty average movie. As far as writing and plot go, Batman Begins is a stronger movie (although Katie Holmes drags it down a notch).

My son is a huge Batman fan but is only 5 years old. Is this going to be a movie I can take him too. He keeps talking about it and I keep telling him it is a "grown up" batman movie.

You seriously want to take a 5 year-old to a 3-hour movie? Everyone sitting close to you will be wishing horrible things upon you and your son.

My youngest is 10 and TDK was a bit too much for him. He watched it but won't watch it again. my next up is 12. I just let tham see the first two movies this winter and I was probably too liberal. The 12 year old loved them and although he didn't love the darkness(?) of the second he handled it well. It was interesting to see how they each reacted as most superhero movies are kid friendly.

I wouldn't let a 5 year old watch any of the trilogy.

He sat thru the Avengers and Spider-man no problem.

I wasn't going to take him opening weekend and likely would take him to an afternoon showing on on Sunday a few weeks from now.

That is what I thought but he keeps asking so I thought I better check first. I haven't seen an other movies in the Trilogy so I wasn't sure how "dark" they are.

Honestly I find the fat guy that can't breathe through his nose a lot more annoying than any five year old kid asking the odd question.

Haven't seen the latest Spiderman, but the first two Batman movies were much darker than the previous Spiderman trilogy and the Avengers. They were also far more violent.

The Batman movies also featured more complex love and political plots and featured much less action. I doubt your son would enjoy sitting through 20 minutes of the DAs office arguing about the philosophy of vigilantiism and corruption.

You could always try running the first movie by him at home to see if he likes it.

Add annoying, pompous ass who explains everything about the movie to his date while the movie is playing to that list.

The worst is the "cool" kids who think they are funny for making annoying and loud comments, and basically just being stupid little pukes showing off to their buddies.

But the upside is that it's fun telling those kids to shut up.

Batman would crash and die if he tried to glide
http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Science/.../19967306.html

In a paper titled Trajectory of a falling Batman, the group argued that if he jumped from a 150-metre (492-foot) high building, the 4.7 metre (15-foot) wingspan of Batman’s cape would allow him to glide 350 metres (1,148 feet).

However, he would reach a speed of 68 miles per hour (109 km per hour) before hitting the ground at a life-threatening speed of 50 mph (80 kph).

It's not even as much about him being 5 as it is about how heavy and dark the plot is. It's a pretty common theme in a lot of reviews - the movie is complex, thematic and not a lot of fun. It's not a traditional summer popcorn movie.

Advance sales are booming. Seats for midnight Friday IMAX screenings are getting hard to come by. And in New York and Los Angeles, moviegoers looking for a workaround on Craigslist to sellouts are being asked to fork over as much as three figures for a pair of opening-weekend tickets.
Quote:
Exhibitor Relations is calling for a three-day opening of $184.5 million. BoxOffice.com is going all the way up to $198 million, a take that would put Dark Knight Rises tantilizingly close to The Avengers' mind-blowing, $207.4 million Friday-Sunday start from May.
Quote:
The idea's already been advanced that The Dark Knight Rises will go down as the biggest-opening 2-D movie ever, possibly by having sold more tickets than The Avengers, regardless of whether it beats the pricier movie's debut record.
