"Ladies and gentlemen, we welcome you to
Monday night RAW!!"
With our 10th round choice, The Channel Surfers select WWE Raw in the Wildcard category.
I had originally thought of putting this in the Reality (Ongoing) category, but figured it would be less controversial and just easier to use it in the Wildcard slot.
I haven't really watched wrestling a lot in the last few months, but you really can't argue with RAW's longevity. It's going into it's 17th year on television, which isn't something many shows can attest to. During the late 1990s and early 2000s, RAW was really the place to see cutting-edge television; something that really pushed the envelope.

WWE Raw is a professional wrestlingtelevision program for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) that currently airs on the USA Network in the United States. The show's name, which is trademarked by WWE as RAW,[citation needed] is also used to refer to the Raw brand, in which WWE employees are assigned to work and perform on that program; the other programs and brands are Friday Night SmackDown and ECW. It is the only television broadcast for the Raw brand. The show originally debuted in the United States on the USA television network on January 11, 1993. It remained there until 2000, when Raw was moved to TNN, later known as Spike TV. In 2005, the show was moved back to the USA Network. Since its launch in 1993, Raw continues to air on Monday nights. Raw is generally seen as the company's flagship program due to its longer history and emphasis on pay-per-views.

Throughout 1997, there were more and more controversial elements in Raw and WWF programming. Memorable moments included Bret Hart swearing at the crowd after losing a steel cage match, with commentators apologizing for his behavaior, and then entering a major brawl with Sid, The Undertaker, Steve Austin, and briefly Shawn Michaels. Some of the most notable moments included the profusely intense feud with The Hart Foundation versus Shawn Michaels and Steve Austin, which saw Raw develop a memorable episode in which Michaels and Austin beat The British Bulldog and Owen Hart for the Tag Team Championship, and whilst they post match attacked Michaels, Austin attacked a disabled Bret Hart to lure them away from Michaels. Other events saw the new black street gang Nation of Domination formed, and Shawn Michaels D-Generation X "racial graffiti" storyline designed to "implicate Bret Hart's 'the Hart Foundation'", and the "XXX Files" series.
On March 10, 1997, Monday Night Raw officially became Raw is War. The March 17, 1997 episode featured a heated Bret Hart/Vince McMahon ringside altercation (that unknowingly foreshadowed events in November) with profanity normally unheard on TV.

The series features a man and his robotsidekicks who are trapped on a satellite in space by an evil scientist and forced to watch a selection of terrible movies, especially (but not initially limited to) science fictionB-movies. To keep sane, the man and his robots make a running commentary on the film, making fun of its flaws and wisecracking (or "riffing") their way through the film in the style of a movie theater peanut gallery. Series creator Hodgson originally played the stranded man, Joel Robinson, for five-and-a-half seasons. When he left in 1993, series head writer Michael J. Nelson replaced him as new B-movie victim Mike Nelson, and continued in the role for the rest of the show's run.
The format proved to be popular. During its eleven years, 198 episodes and one feature film, MST3K attained a loyal fan base and critical acclaim. The series won a Peabody Award in 1993, and was nominated for writing Emmys in 1994 and 1995.
PS - I highly reccomend MST3K: The Movie. It was on Space the other day, and it's easily one of my all time favourite movies (yet, I missed it on the draft).
Now that WWE Raw has been taken, you can't take WWE Smackdown.
Same show :P
Arguement to why it's two different shows:
- Different networks.
- Now showing two seperate rosters, with some crossover, but WWE roster is split between Raw, Smackdown, ECW.
- Shows are filmed on seperate days. Different production crews.
I wouldn't argue with someone taking Smackdown, personally. You just wont see it on my roster, that's all.
Yeah, RAW and SmackDown! are two completely different brands, with different writers, entertainers, production crews, everything. I obviously wouldn't take it anyway, but I don't think it should be excluded as a choice for someone else.
It means don't talk Smack(down) to the wrestling nerds, otherwise they'll take out their ripped Bret Heart t-shirt, fire down another Twinkie, and get mad at you over the internet

Don't make me run outside in my underwear and elbow smash the neighbour's cat from the top of my roof!
...or something like that.
I'm actually not even a wrestling fan. I stopped really following it after Stampede Wrestling, and then the glory years of WWF with Hogan, the Warrior, Andre, etc etc.
Obviously, I didn't mind the Rock... but not enough to get me to follow it at all.
Geez. I should have known that a TV draft would eventually be taken over with a 'real' wrestling storyline! I'm surprised it took this long quite honestly.
I almost picked Mystery Science Theater 3000 instead of Dukes of Hazzard, but I thought it had a better chance of dropping. Great pick Prototype!

I'm sorry I'm so late, I was out volunterring last night and didn't get home until 11 and I just had the morning from Hell, so this will just be a quick post. Team Legen...wait for it...dary! selects The Ellen DeGeneres Show in the Talk Show category. I don't watch many talk shows since I work when they are on, but on a sick day, I will watch Ellen. She's a great interviewer, way better than Oprah because she doesn't constantly interupt her guests.
