If you remove Salah's legendary heater in the first half of last year they've been pretty much an average team under Slot. I would guess his future is UCL dependent, if they snag a spot he'll survive even if he shouldn't.

I keep thinking that I am being too harsh on the current state of the PL. That I am getting caught up in too much "prisoner of the moment", that things are actually better than I think, and that despite the growth of negative football in the league, that things overall are decent...
...and then I look at the table and see that Everton are going to be three points outside a UCL spot.....and then my thinking becomes maybe I'm not being harsh enough. Everton in the Champions League next year....lol yeah this league might actually be cooked.

Oh I figured everyone was on the same page here. He’s gone, you guys get someone awesome and we get Slot at Tottenham, where he’s a mess and we’re searching for a new manager in a year. We’re seemingly happy with the retreads at Spurs. Rinse and repeat. Always repeat.

Chelsea getting murdered by Everton. Beautiful.
Happy for Moyes too, who rightfully called out the "punishment" that poor Chelsea had to suffer.
Quote:
“I don’t think they have explained it well enough in the reasoning what the fine was and why it was,” Moyes told a press conference on Friday, in quotes carried by the Guardian. “I think they have to explain exactly what has happened here. If they don’t then we are never going to understand their reasoning why.
“This is me not being anything against Chelsea, absolutely not, I’m just saying that everybody would like to know; Everton supporters, for the pain they had to go through when they had a huge points deduction, and other clubs as well. Those points deductions may well have been correct, I don’t know, but we need to see what is the difference?
“What would you rather have, a £10m fine or a 10 point deduction? The money you get for your league place now, that might cover it. It would be good if we could get more of an explanation. How much is the £10m fine having an effect, really?”

You think Chelsea can amortise this humiliating season across seven years?

The theory I have read about Chelsea and Man City and why the punishments will be nothing other than a fine and maybe a transfer ban is that any real punishment, whether a huge points deduction or straight relegation, would impact TV deals outside of the UK and that the potential for lost revenue from that is why the PL won't go full bore on it. And that makes sense to me, we can act like NBC or Fubo or whoever is paying for the PL as a total package, but really they are paying to broadcast the top teams. Lose one of them and all of a sudden that deal loses value and future deals net less money. And, as we know, less money is not acceptable even if it improves the game.
