Why would you expect Sky to do anything. I didn't see Sky condemn Danica for her stunt, which was far worse IMO.

Oh I don’t expect them to do anything. But they should do something.

Brundle has participated in or commentated on like 700 grands prix. I don't totally agree/disagree with him here, but I don't even see this as a hot take.

Bull####. I don’t want to watch a driver pass out from dehydration and drive headfirst into a wall at 180mph.

A driver pulled out of the race with heatstroke. Other drivers were sick in the car. He essentially called them weak. It was a dangerous situation, calling them weak because they got heatstroke? Now that’s weak.
I don’t like Brundle at all. He says a lot of stupid ####. He never gets in trouble for that. It’s time.

It’s weird that Brundle references Senna…it’s almost like he forgot how Senna died. We don’t need to watch drivers die.

In Brundles defense he was referencing Sennas 1st Brazilian GP win where he lost all his gears except 6th gear and finished the race with severe dehydration, severe cramping in his neck and shoulders .
And Sennas death was purely mechanical. So I don't see what Brundle said as offensive side when it comes to Ayrton Senna.
t do agree that it was a total Don Cherry comment by. an old school person who drove in an Era with zero safety regs.

My point was that Senna was one of F1's greatest drivers who died for his sport and the type of behaviour that Brundle is pushing is putting more great drivers at risk of dying.
F1 drivers prove day in and day out that they are some of the most astoundingly talented people on Earth. It isn't a "weak view" to believe that they shouldn't be expected to perform their jobs that put them in life or death situations in torturous conditions. Being unwilling to be subjected to 60+ Celsius temperatures that cause them to pass out while driving or throw up in their helmets. The drivers are the greatest assets for the sport.

Maybe racing in the desert because they pay the most money isn't really where the sport should have headed. But I know, money.
It was also super disappointing to not have Brundle at the race, given his thoughts on track limits. Would have been a good one for him!

Wow, looking at the calendar I didn't realize the season had gotten so long. They'll have less time off than teachers!
Disappointing it is bookended by two ME desert races. Lame.

Results are in from the sweltering Qatar GP.
Congrats this week goes to McCree who not only took top spot with 3 slotted and 8 Top 10 picks but also jumped into P2 overall. McCree now sits 2 pts ahead of bizaro86 for the last prize spot. FleuryisGod and DoubleK take second spot this week with 3 & 7.
DoubleK maintains his overall lead, although it is now down to a mere 20pts

Yeah you would think Qatar should either be with the front end races on February or towards the end with Dubai. Although it's hot there any time of the year. Racing is dangerous enough, but this sounds like it was pretty extreme. I do think that the drivers would adjust a bit like the experienced ones do with Singapore, but they should try to make this less extreme.

Congrats to McCree! Not clear to me from this (and I don't recall) whether there are 2 prize spots or 3?

The FIA has taken an interest in his hissy fit.

He should be severely disciplined, if not outright fired. Physically contacting people who were only there to do their jobs is completely beyond the pale. He might be protected by his daddy within his team but it cannot be accepted by F1.

The FIA definitely doesn’t care about him shoving his trainer and neither does anyone in F1, including the trainer.
