I'm not bashing your guy, he could easily compliment these players, but if the Flames keep catering to him as part of the core, expect more of what's been seen over the past 4 years.

Backlund has been brutal so far. He's handling the puck like it's a live grenade.

Took a peek at the GT during 2nd intermission (watching at werk) and I feel like I'm watching a completely different game. Step back from the cliff......

?? He has created 3 prime scoring chances with his stick handling alone.

Smith does not inspire confidence in a fan. It's only 2 games but you would think he'd be better than he is now.

I will say that this is the most invested I've been in a Flames game all season.

I don't blame Smith on any of these goals. First one, yeah, you let a skill guy take a free shot from 10 feet away, that's a goal. Second, perhaps it could've been stopped, but it's still a 2 on 1 that should never happen - at best, Smith isn't primarily responsible for that. Third and fourth goals essentially unsavable.
I don't even know who to point to as a whipping boy here, the whole team looks out of sync... or rather they did outside of about 8 minutes in that period where they were completely dominant. Which, totally by coincidence I'm sure, was the same 8 minutes where we got "pissed off Johnny" after getting hit by Virtanen and activating God mode. If he did that all the time he'd win the Hart.

We're up to Sakic and Datsyuk now for the Pettersson comparables.

Yeah, you can't get Coffee Crisp or Smarties, Aero, or any good chocolate here really. Bought one of those mega packs and everything is gone but the Coffee Crisp.

Score a freaking goal please. Then another one. And then another. And then don't allow anymore.
