For reference, Hartley's firing was announced at 8:00am on a Tuesday.

Yep.

After watching Vegas OT game and the Columbus games, it was clear as day how boring our team is to watch. We're now the old 05/10 Minnesota teams everyone dreaded playing because of how boring they are.

Has there been any rumours of AV interviewing with the Blues? As far as Peters goes there's only two teams to talk to and I don't know if he's a guy that the Rangers or Stars would covet. Otherwise there's not a lot of action right now so really it's not imminent that they fire Gulutzan. I imagine things may heat up after the first round for example if the Capitals get bounced. Like many of you I would probably feel a lot better if he was fired this week but really it doesn't mean a lot one way or the other if it doesn't happen.

Please Brad, quit wasting time. Close the dreary Gulutzan chapter in the Flames book and start looking in a new direction. The people that, essentially, pay you have spoken!!!

It was so bad that I started PVR'ing and fast forwarding through most of the game - only stopping to watch the commercials.

FAKE NEWS! The list never gets shorter, and the more you do, the more you screw up expectations.

I have a Bill Peter's update....

My source advised that he went to the rink to negotiate his settlement. Apparently with an out-clause, it's not cut and dried.

This negotiation is the reason for the media speculation about the extension to opt out.

Peter's has two offers on the table from Canadian teams... They are positive one is Calgary and thinks Ottawa is the other

I'm guessing that Gulutzan firing is totally tied to Peter's picking Calgary. I just hope there's an option B if Peter's doesn't pick Calgary.

It was also noted that he wants this settled before heading to Denmark and coaching the WC.

There was some other personal info/reasons that I can't don't want to divulge, but this is a pretty legit source..

I forgot to mention, I guess this new owner is absolutely clueless about hockey and could be convinced into anything. I immediately started thinking about having the inside track with Peter's in the fold, how we could scoop up the good players they have. I guess a GM will be hired to make those moves but doesn't sound like he will find anyone to take the job. Especially with his comments about paying one.

They should have jettisoned him on Friday the 13th.

I understand other culls have happened on that date.

I find the drive thru is a disaster but the inside isn't bad. At the end of the day it is still the tasty goodness of Peters. On a side note, do you know if CP has a large following in RD? I am sort of new here and would love to have people to watch games with in the future.

I think he is supposed to be a better Gulutzan, which seems only moderately exciting. I would prefer the best Sutter, AV or even Tippett for that matter (though this is impossible because of the Phoenix politics apparently).

I honestly don't know...

He's a disciple of Babcock (good/bad) from the successful Detroit organization

Apparently his systems are possession - possession #'s better than GG, but I don't know if they play similar systems to get those results...

He's more decorated? More of a hardass on players

Mostly all taken from the talk in recent weeks in this thread.

I'd like it for the fact we might be able to swindle some good players out of Carolina. If they get some schmuck GM that the owner cheaps out on... Maybe we can get some of BP favorites.

Just had a look at who the Carolina assistants are.

Hopefully if he does come to Calgary he leaves Steve Smith behind.

Any time you can get the inside track on a coach whose team has never finished higher than 6th in their division you gotta jump on that. Those guys don’t just grow on trees.
