If Bennett can make the club at least we would have one player that is prone to attempt wrap arounds lol. Bennett has such wide variety of skills on the attack.

It's not that easy, especially not for an 18-year-old kid doing his laundry for the first time. Washing machines nowadays are ridiculous. Most have about forty buttons instead of just one, and all of them are marked by hieroglyphs that require a whole course in itself to learn to decipher.
(this from a 40-year-old grown man who is now doing all his own laundry for the first time in 20 years.)

Proper water temps, what gets machine dried vs hang dried, washing things inside out so that they look great longer. There are a ton of tricks that we consider basic/common sense but always seem to overwhelm young guys.
My roommates were always jealous of the fact my clothes from a few christmas' back would look better than stuff they bought a month before. We tried lessons, and eventually just worked out an arrangement where they would give me money and I would work my laundry magic.

He can't because he was drafted out of the CHL. The NHL and CHL have an agreement that players have to be returned to the CHL as long as they are eligible to play (I forget the specifics but it is something about when they turn 20 in their overage year), so if they are 18 or 19 and some 20 year olds have yo be returned. Seilof wasn't drafted out of the CHL which is why as a 19 year old he could go to the AHL last year.
Also part of the agreement is once they are sent down they can not return to the NHL until their junior team is done (only exception is the emergency recall ala Baertchi a couple years ago).

So if he stays and plays less than 9 games he can still be sent back to the CHL, without is entry level contract kicking in.
If he plays more than 9 games, say 35 he can still be sent back to the CHL, but a year of his entry level has been used.
Correct?

Not all 19 year olds need to be returned. Porier is 19 until December and he is eligible for the AHL this year. Perhaps it is if you turn 20 the same year you can go pro as he will be 20 this year

Yes, any player who is 20 or will turn 20 prior to December 31 of the current year at the start of the season can be sent to the AHL under the NHL/CHL agreement.
Also, any player who will not turn 20 prior to the end of the year, but who has already played in the CHL for 4 full seasons, can also be sent to the AHL. If Florida were to send Ekblad back to the OHL this year, he'd be able to play in the AHL next season as a 19 year-old because he would already have 4 years experience in the CHL.

I think this pretty much shows that with his style of game he needs that year to develop. It will only hurt his development if he spends a portion of his NHL time nursing injuries.

Yep. If he's injured there's no sense keeping him up.
Go down, get over injuries, dominate Junior, and come in next year a little bigger and a little more ready for the grind. No rush.
The kid is YOUNG, and if he's this good already he's going to be that much better in 12 months.
I'll also enjoy watching him dominate the World Juniors.

He's just banged up. It's likely the groin problem he had earlier that they're just resting.
He should be going back to Jr. regardless though. He needs to mature physically.

Yeah, the guy just turned 18 in June and is 8 months younger than Monahan was last season at the start of the NHL season (8 months can be a lot of growth time for people that age).
I think Bennett showed that he has NHL skill and a mature attitude, but he just needs to let nature take its course.
