Makes sense, aren't the Nexus 5, Z1 and G2 all supposed to have the new Snapdragon 800?

Nexus 10 to be released on the same day as the Nexus 5. Per multiple sources.

Is the new Nexus 10 still going to have a 2560x1600 display? I may have to upgrade and sell mine...

Sounds like it.

the display is likely to have a dimension change to be slimmer and lighter while the HD 1080p display will be improved, though by how much is hard to say given it already boasts a 2560x1600 1080p HD display.

What the hell does that even mean? 1080p is 1920x1080 @ 60hz refresh. The original Nexus 10 is 1600p.
Stupid tech bloggers.

Plus, a boot screen video and documents at the FCC confirmed a few specs: display of 4.96-inches, 2,300mAh battery, 2GB of RAM, 16-32GB of internal storage, LTE connectivity, 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera.

2300mAh battery? FFS, how much more can it be to put in something of a decent size. I can live with the lesser camera, but this non replaceable battery just might be the deal breaker.

Eh I won't make a big deal about the battery until I see how the new processor/screen type collectively affects power usage. Usage levels keep trending downward.
I mean, hell my GN only has a 1900mAh stock battery. 2300 sounds good to me

On a semi related note, getting to see the Note 3 and compare the battery between it and the Note 2's,even though there was a 100mAh increase it was noticeably bigger despite the newer phone being marginally smaller/thinner. Really makes something like the RAZR Maxx an impressive feat of engineering.

I know Imagine Wireless (Rogers) just started carrying them too.

I own the 5200 mAh micro USB version. I can charge my tablet (Nexus 7, first gen) and phone at the same time!
Charges at a rate of 2.1 amps, which is faster than my car charger.

Haha...that's awesome.
I have my own reasons for pushing MiPow.
But yes, the portable power segment of the wireless industry is taking off. Just make sure you get a quality piece of technology. Lots of bad stuff out there. If you use something like the Patriot, make sure you use a quality, if not the original, charging cable with it.
I can speak to the quality and durability of the MiPow. I also like how the charging cables for it are built right in. No extra cables to carry around!

Currently I have GN with the extended 2100 mAh(or so) battery. Can barely make it 14 hrs a day now. I do have an external battery to make it through the day.... but that's something I could certainly do without...
You're right that the actually battery life may not be as bad as it seems, but with that wimpy battery, endurance is probably not going to be it's strong point. Seems a bit silly, given that the unit cost to increase battery size would be like what, $15?

If I am buying a 7" android tablet should I bother shopping around or should I get a nexus 7. Are any other options competitive

For the price, the specs and the build quality, nothing beats the Nexus 7...yet.
Maybe an iPad...if you like paying too much for a name.

No nerd talk allowed.
Take it to the Android thread. Plenty of talk of kernals, roms, rams, butts and stuff there.
