I had a 4th-gen F-Body (Camaro) and those things had a completely mental rake on the windshield, it was a pain in the arse to clean. That mop thing would have been welcomed.

That can be explained by soft padding trim and not hard dash plastic. That said it doesn't appear to be high grade padding.

I don't think that explains it. Every other manufacturer has figured out soft touch dashes without it looking like crap.

Can't lay off a department that never existed in the company.

This is what happens when you have engineers compete on cost reduction. The down side of the Justice Board. It's also why Tesla's are so spartan. You can save a lot of money by not making things.

It's only going to get worse. Elon want to make the company lean, now? If their vehicles were rife with defects previously cost-cutting surely won't make them less so.

The biggest complaint I've heard from Tesla owners is that sales and service suck when you need it, so they've gone and cut a bunch of those employees while they have an ever-increasing number of aging vehicles on the road. I'm sure that helps with repeat customers.

And then when you would like to make a complaint / escalate, it's literally impossible to talk to a human.
So when, like now, many people are having problems with their cybertruck, all you can do is tow it to a Tesla Service, where it waits its turn to be fixed, and you have no recourse for the $100,000 unusable vehicle you bought and have less than 10 km on.

I want a Tesla model 3. Cheapest long range vehicles, software that has no peer in the industry, interesting driver assist stuff to pay with, one of the most efficient EVs on the road, best charging experience, etc.
I'll never, ever buy one mostly for this reason

Musk is pushing for his $56 billion compensation package again, a day after axing 10% of the Tesla workforce.
The 56 billion would be enough to pay 20,000 employees each $100,000 a year for 28 years.
The greed is off the charts.

Tesla only has 30 billion cash on hand. His "compensation" is in the form of stock grants.
It is different then paying him 56 billion in cash. All issuing him shares does is dilute the existing shareholders value.

The two thing effectively have zero in common
Shareholders wanted staff reduced / costs lowered
Shareholders also dont want Elon to get his
The only thing in common Is shareholders care about their returns and not people

The price of full self driving subscription has dropped to $99 Canadian a month for Tesla Vision vehicles.
This is after the 30 free trial. I guess Tesla is so desperate to show more revenue after that poor quarter that they are trying to get as much money out of FSD as they can because nobody was biting at the $16,000 purchase price.
FYI, this is 25% cheaper than the full self driving subscription in the US which is $99 USD given the exchange rate.
