Real or not, he believed his safety was at issue. Jack Black, who is by far the more famous of the two, probably got pummeled with threats from right wing trolls and got spooked.

We each have our own tolerance for safety, and celebrities already live in a non-safe world. I would think less of Black if he permanently abandons Tenacious D after this though.
Sometimes I dont think people really appreciate Jack Black for who he is.

Frankly, while you're correct, he absolutely is the more famous of the Rock Duo, he also thusly, has more money for protection.

And I'd bet KG was protected by him as well. But sometimes, you gotta shut things down to protect yourself and sometimes to protect your friend.

I dont believe there was any malice in it. Only caution.

Kage needs the D. Let this blow over and get back to rocking as usual. Black is a good friend.

I think he is too, I dont know obviously, but from all outward appearances.

I even just watched 'Dear Santa' and the Rage Kage got a small part as a local teacher.

Same with Year 1. If Black is involved you can bet Kage is likely in there too.

Considering it was more or less started as a joke? The D is the best! They go on tour, they've made movies.

I'll never forget the first time I heard 'Wonderboy' and thought...'what the hell is this?' and from then on...I had to have it all!

Dear Santa was a strong contender for the worst movie I've ever seen in my life, but it gets disqualified as I couldn't even get through it and shut it off

I thoroughly enjoyed Juror #2 even though it was not exactly what I was expecting. I mean, it wasn’t wildly different from what we saw in the trailer but it played out a bit differently than I would have predicted, maybe in a good way. Not Oscar material but definitely the sort of typical quality adult drama that Eastwood is known to produce. It’s the kind of movie I enjoy discussing afterwards. I won’t say more due to spoilers. I’d give it a strong 7.5/10.

Is Juror #2 on some garbage streaming service? I was interested but haven't seen it listed in the theaters.

Same as The Brutalist, was listed as a Dec 20th release in Canada but no showtimes yet.

Juror #2 had limited screenings and didn't get into many theatres.

I don’t think it had a theatrical release at all in Canada. Streaming only. The limited release was in the US or maybe just in the UK.

Kyle is hard. Jack is soft jello. Pick your side.

As for most influential 90s movies, hard to argue with Matrix and shawshank, but pulp fiction, good fellas and 5th element round out my choices.

I think the jurassic park was just the evolution of the creature feature, scream came at a time when people were tired of the boogeyman films and was self referential but not mind blowing. Lambs might be in there. So might heat.

I feel like you all missed Jack Black’s key role in Waterworld.

Brutalist is in super limited release to qualify for the Oscar’s, it goes wide sometime in January.

Heretic was great. Another movie that I needed. Nothing earth shattering and easy to watch.

Watched The Big Lebowski for the first time and what a great film. It was hilarious and deeper than it has any right to be. John Goodman was even better than he usually is (and I love him in everything) he stole the film for me which is hard because the Dude was amazing too. This film definitely deserves a spot in the best 90s movies ever.

I have to ask; did you make it your life's mention to just ignore every classic or well-rated movie and just see everything else? Not being critical I just find it interesting you haven't seen so many classics but have seen so much other stuff.

I myself find myself watching classics that I've never seen before for various reason. Like Planet of the Apes, and Slapshot

It can be easy to write off older films from best of lists etc that you’ve never seen but seen a lot of pieces of via just pop culture osmosis as something you don’t necessarily need to see to know. The more of those types of films I actually watch, the more I find that to be so very wrong and special movies are usually regarded that way for a reason. And it’s actually a problem because that’s how I think quality gets diluted because people think the soundbites are what makes a movie great, so movies become soundbites and the ones with the most are the best.

Nadalfan’s one man stand for Batman vs Superman becomes even more puzzling when they give sound insight on actually good movies.

Honestly alot of the classic films I've watched recently either came out before I was born or very young. I've always had them on my radar but when I picked up a 4K TV was when I really started watching all different kinds of cinema. Alot of the classic films I've seen recently got a new 4K release and that's the reason I bought them and finally gave it a watch. Don't want my first time watching say Casablanca on an old dvd for example

I checked this one off the list tonight. It truly is a perfect action movie and also a Christmas movie!
