Literally cruising through retirement sounds awesome, to be honest.
Like I said....some people love it.
I think theres a limit to how much shuffleboard one can play, but who am I to say?
Really, I think what MoneyGuy I are trying to say is, its been talked about, mentioned, etc, but we actually know people who really do it. So...it is a thing.
Retirement is different things to different people.

Haha...yup. I quite enjoy cruising, but my wife is indifferent at best. This would be an option to me if I was single only, there's no way my wife would be on board for it.

On board? I see what you did there.

Today I saw a car miss the Beddington exit from Deerfoot North, come to a complete stop, then start reversing towards the exit. Someone stupid enough to try that deserves to have their license stripped for life

It grinds my gears that CP is now old enough where different retirement options are now discussion fodder, and I'm just nodding along thinking - "that sounds interesting"

People pulling insane moves because they didnt plan in advance or missed their turn-off or whatever drive me insane.
Its not the end of the world. Take the next one and work your way back.
Dont do something insanely stupid and dangerous just because you screwed up.

Damn, I mentioned the radar vehicle hiding behind the barrier on deerfoot south at glenmore on the on ramp to deerfoot south from glenmore west. Hidden from deerfoot traffic (when they're not allowed to do that) AND causing people coming onto deerfoot to slow down because they're an emergency vehicle so they slam on the breaks and are forced to merge onto deerfoot at 60km/hr.
I glossed over the idea of reporting, but now they're basically permanently set up there after sun down each day. **** that, I'll report. Whoever posted the reddit thread with instructions on how to report I'd love to see that again.

Not that the average driver would necessarily know the rule but you only have to slow down if the vehicle has their lights flashing. The photo radar vehicles never have their flashers on, that I have seen.

I will note that a Photo Radar van/vehicle is NOT considered to be an emergency vehicle, and does not have flashing lights, thus the 'slow to 60' law does not apply to it.

Imagine the ornate and beautiful crutches surferguy would carve if he was in the woods and had to make his own... Of course they would cost $17,000 but you could hang them on the wall or serve cheese off of them when you were done!! For an additional cost of $22000 you could tell time with them too!!

Dont do something insanely stupid and dangerous just because you screwed up.
We were coming out of London Stansted airport this morning and some guy took the wrong slip road for the motorway and decided a three point turn was the way to go.
It’s annoying that car dealers aren’t open on Sundays.
Then people would want other businesses open on Sundays, and eventually *your* business might be open on Sunday, and then you’re back with the complaint, “it’s annoying that car dealerships aren’t open on Wednesdays” or “I hate how we don’t get 2 days off in a row anymore”.
Conversely, if you work flexible hours, just go to dealership and make up the hours later.

I was riding along the Greenway trail next to Tsuu T'ina Trail this afternoon and watched a pickup truck backing down the southbound ramp to Anderson to get back on the ring road. Terrifying.

Ugh...its seriously one of my biggest gear grinders.
If I've said it once, I've said it a million times, one of the absolute key elements of being a good driver is 'being predictable.'
So pulling insane crap like that...just keep going, get off the main road, pull over, and figure out where you're going.
For instance, when I'm going somewhere and I'm not sure where it is or have never been there before, I, like everyone, punch it into my GPS.
What I also do though is Google-Map it first so I at least have a general idea of where I'm going.
And if I screw it up...I get off the main road, pull over and figure it out.

The beautiful thing about GPS is it will re-route you if you make a mistake, so it’s not like you have to make any crazy maneuvers. Maybe they should just be given out whenever you get your license.
