For those not in the know, 47 is the 47th president, el Trumpo. "86" means to kill, originating in the Korean war. The F-86 Sabre was a new jet at the time, and had such a successful kill ratio that getting shot down by one was expressed as "getting 86'd". You might hear someone reject a bad idea by saying "86 it".



Canadair had a license to make them, and was called the Canadair Sabre.

Yes - it has been used to say a particular menu item is done with for like... a hundred years? Every time you have a lunch special for example you have a fixed number of them that can be served, once the last one is sold the kitchen will tell all the servers "86 salmon" or whatever so they don't let the next customer try to order it.
