Lol this war is way better for liberals than that conservative war. Let’s get to WW3 hurry.
What a simpleton way to look at it.
When all the facts end up coming out after this is done there will be plenty of liberal “bad actors” in this, start following the money.
Every war has mis/disinformation in hind sight.
Surely you must agree that there is a difference between coming to the aid of a country being invaded (Ukraine) and a war where you are invading another country (Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq the second time).
Put the f-cking idiot on ignore and quit quoting his posts. Holy sh-t, how many more times does it need to be said? He contributes nothing of value, actively trolls, never responds when people do engage with him, and the admins don't seem too bothered to address his bullsh-ttery (though thank god we still have a swear filter).
Put. Him. On. Ignore. For all our sakes.

How do you know what’s good if you never see any bad? Learn to control yourself that you may better tolerate others.
Is this a serious post? Pointman, a Russian, had to escape Russia and is laying out the facts.
Yoho, a moron, counters with his own facts and you are saying we should take what he has to say into account, or "tolerate" him?
Pointman is the epitome of integrity, intelligence, and bravery. Yoho is on the other end of the spectrum, you can “tolerate “ his presence without giving any weight to his contributions.
I didn't, because I have him on ignore like any sane person should. But then others had to quote his stupidity, so blah to them
I have him on ignore; but did see the quote - which is fine usually, but the dichotomy between Pointman's summary of his version of the war, along with his own honest and difficult opinion about his views of his home country vs. Yoho's water-carrying to own the libs is peak current political discourse.
I just wanted to point it out is all.

Oh brother, this is too much. The guy was an apologist until it affected him. I'm truly glad that he and his family are safe, because no one deserves their life to be in danger, but lets not get carried away here.
I'm so glad Pointman and his family made it safely! It must have been so scary at times with all the uncertainty. Can't imagine the poor kids (and Pointman and his wife) having to uproot their entire lives because of things out of their control.

It does show the challange in the information side of this war. Until something individually affects you it’s relatively easy to justify the actions of the people currently responsible for your well being. The idea that the Russian population should revolt against the government for the Ukraine has always been wishful thinking. That’s not the way humans work.
It’s why sanctions work, they are targeted at making lives worse for the general population.

If we do not give people with opposing viewpoints a soft landing when they change their opinions, are we simply being tribal or are we trying to come to agreement?

Calling someone "the epitome of integrity and bravery" is a little more than providing a soft landing. I'm glad he's safe and has changed his views to align more with what's actually happening. There's no need to go crazy with it.

I always saw his posts as explaining the Russian viewpoint but not necessarily embracing or apologizing for them.
