Watched Conclave last night. I found it a good watch. Kind of had an odd twist at the end but that was fine. I'm sure the Catholics did not like it one bit. I say that without seeing online reactions to the book or movie.

Totally. I've had a layover there 3 different times (including last month), I think about going every time. Sadly they're never long enough...hit me with some monstro 10 hour layover, and I'm there.

Why reboot that, when it was done perfectly the first time?

Exactly. On the very, very short list of 'Nearly Perfect Movies' that film is up there.

Like, what? Austin Butler is going to one-up Christian Bale in that role? Yeah....call me thats not a pipe dream.

Now...if it was something like Bale vs. a new psycho that might be interesting but a straight remake? No bueno.

Those are the best kind of movies centering on catholicism.

I guess we're at the point of making B versions of superior films that aren't that old.

Ive seen a number of comments online suggesting Butler would make a good Paul Allen in a bit of a spin off. That would require some original ideas though.

Even in comedies Plemons scares me.

Great actor.

It's weird that Hollywood has a fascination with rebooting beloved or already great movies. Why not do what they did with Dune and fix the mistakes of the past by rebooting movies that should have been good but ended up being terrible? (Sorry 80s Dune fans)

Well, yes, but that wasn't supposed to be American Psycho II. They just shoehorned that in last minute.

And it's a funny bad movie, except for Mila and Bill, everyone else are these random people that show up in other stuff all the time as bit players. Lindy Booth, Robin Dunne, Kim Poirier, Geraint Wyn Davies...

And just like that, Hollywood's officially tapped out of original ideas.

I mean it's been that way for a while but I mean, American Psycho isn't old enough to get a remake.

This. Remake movies that didn’t translate and make them good!
