Yes. I guess I'm just used to my guy friends who think it's a stupid show. And I couldn't let The Muppet Show go by either!

Team Idiot Box, after much deliberation, is proud to select in the category of Action/Adventure, Bones. Another pick where there may be objections. I think it fits there, but if there are enough complaints I can move it around.

Anyways, Bones... Awesome show. Temperance Brennan, a brilliant forensix anthropologist, often called Bones, hence the title of the show. Agent Seeley Booth recruits her to help him solve crimes. His people/street smarts and her scientific mind are a great combo for solving crimes. I am not doing the show justice, in fact, I am making it sound kinda stupid, but it's a really great show.

I never used to like David Boreanez back in his Buffy/Angel days, but I love him on this show. He and Emily Deschanel are great together, it really makes the show enjoyable.

Brennan and Booth Rock out to Hot Blooded:

Nickelback fan made montage about Brennan and Booth

***Now, I have to point out I haven't watched past season two yet. I lost track of season three because of hockey and then the dvd only just recently came out and I have been told not to buy it because of Christmas so I gotta wait. So, if there is any discussion about anything post season two, maybe do the spoilers in white type dealie. I would appreciate that greatly.***

First off, I will move SNL from Comedy (Open) to the Pre-80 category.

The Don Lapre Appreciation Society
selects in the COMEDY (open) category, the other Judd Apatow created cult TV series,
Undeclared (2001)

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0273028/
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undeclared

-from Wikipedia:
Quote:
Undeclared is an American television series that aired on Fox during the 2001–2002 TV season. The half-hour comedy-drama/sitcom was Judd Apatow's follow-up to the TV cult classic Freaks and Geeks, which also lasted for one season. Undeclared centered on a group of college freshmen at the fictitious University of North Eastern California. Unlike Freaks, it was set in the current time of the early 2000s rather than the 1980s. It gave a humorous look at the highs and lows of college life, from young adult relationships to the dreaded freshman fifteen. It takes its name from the status of an undergraduate who has not yet decided, or "declared", a specific major of study they wish to take.
This half-hour comedy-drama likely would have done better ratings-wise if not for constant preemptions and juggling of the time slot. Surprise, surprise. We're talking Fox here.

Two members of the Freaks & Geeks cast were brought back as regular castmembers for this series---Seth Rogen and Jason Segel ("How I Met Your Mother", "Knocked Up", "Forgetting Sarah Marshall").

Other members of the cast include Jay Baruchel (as Steven Karp), Carla Gallo (the porn actress in this season of Californication), Charlie Hunnam, Monica Keena ("Entourage"), Timm Sharp, and musician Loudon Wainwright III as
Steven's recently divorced dad Hal Karp.

Guest stars included Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, Amy Poehler, Fred Willard, Ted Nugent, Ben Stiller, Jenna Fischer, and Kyle Gass of Tenacious D --- all favorites of mine.

The opening theme of the show is called "Solid" by The Dandy Warhols.

If you like the Apatow movies, this is well worth checking out.

Lots on Youtube. You could almost watch the whole series

I hate to see one of the "Girls" unhappy.

I'll trade it to you for Bones.

No, I could have had it, but I went with Bones instead. My comedy categories are full as is. I do have a rather unhealthy obsession with Seth Rogen, but I gotta stick with my pick.

If I had taken Undeclared with my pick, would you have picked Bones?

Jason Segel is great as the psycho boyfriend. And I loved Charlie Hunnan. It's too bad it only lasted a year.

The Infomercial Kings are very proud to choose in the Action category Knight Rider

Aside from having one of the coolest cars in the history of TV, it also brought us the Hoff! I remember watching this show as a kid and thinking this is greatest thing ever and the Hoff is the coolest man on the face of the earth.

Self-made billionaire Wilton Knight rescues police detective Michael Long after a near fatal shot to the face, giving him a new identity (via plastic surgery) and a new name: Michael Knight. Wilton selects Michael to be the muscle in the pilot program of his Knight Foundation-funded public justice organization, the Foundation for Law and Government (FLAG). The other half of this pilot program is the Knight Industries Two Thousand (KITT), a Pontiac Trans Am controlled by a computer with artificial intelligence. Michael and KITT are brought in during situations where "direct action might provide the only feasible solution."
Heading FLAG is Devon Miles, who provides Michael with directives and guidance. Dr. Bonnie Barstow is the chief engineer in charge of KITT's care, as well as technical assistant to Devon.

"Hi Bob."

Alright, I'm going to go off the board a bit here with my next pick. Let me preface this by saying that because I'm a bit of a hypochondriac, I don't watch a lot of medical shows, and the ones I do watch are usually comedies (Scrubs, Doogie Howser, etc.), and most of the ones I have watched have already been picked.

Then it occurred to me...If the main character of a show has the title of "Doctor" and he spends a significant percentage of the episodes at his office, with his patients, it should fall into the category of "Medical"...Right?

So, using that logic, and realizing that this show is somehow still available...Frozen TV Dinner is very pleased to select, in the Medical category, from MTM Enterprises, and the CBS Television network: The Bob Newhart Show.

The Bob Newhart Show aired on CBS from 1972 to 1978 and starred (obviously) Bob Newhart as Dr. Bob Hartley, a Chicago psychologist with an eclectic and erratic group of patients.

Hartley's office was in a Chicago medical center. He shared a floor and receptionist (played by the voice of Bart Simpson's teacher - Marcia Wallace) with orthodontist Jerry Robinson (Peter Bonerz).

Bob's home life revolved around his wife Emily (Suzanne Pleshette), and their neighbor Howard (Bill Daily).

Bob Newhart's comedic style has always been that of an everyman caught in situations with oddball characters and this show gave him the perfect showcase. Much of Newhart's early comedy was based around the concept of the audience hearing only Newhart's reaction to something that someone else was doing, often in the form of a telephone conversation where we can only hear Bob's side of the conversation. With the Bob Newhart Show, we finally got to see the people on the other side of the phone (or sitting on the psychologist's couch in this case).

Unfortunately, YouTube is greatly lacking in clips from the show. Entire episodes are available on Hulu.com, but unfortunately, they're not available in Canada.

Okaaay i'm back on line. And i might add a lot poorer as i had to upgrade my computer

Anyway here's my pick.

proudly select from the Reality (Elimination)......a little off the board Canadian production on the OLN Network. A show i just can't get enough of

"Mantracker"

"Two people take off into the bush with a map, a compass and a head start. The tracker is on horseback, armed with a local guide and an arsenal of forensic skills. The prey have 36 hours to reach a finish line some 40 kilometers away without getting caught. How they escape is up to them.

This season covers terrain from the Maritimes to the prairie Badlands to the Coast Mountains of Northern BC and Mantracker is counting on his sidekicks to guide him through it. The prey may know each other going into the chase, but will the pressure of being hunted cement their bonds or destroy their relationships?
The prey are looking for glory. Mantracker is looking for them."

Bomus trivia: I played golf with Mantracker this past summer.

I picked this episode below as Dustin and Ian are one of the few to beat Mantracker. This is the other reality show that i watch religiously.

2031 Mantracker Ep203, Dustin & Ian, Part 1

2032 Mantracker Ep203, Dustin & Ian, Part 2

2033 Mantracker Ep203, Dustin & Ian, Part 3

2034 Mantracker Ep203, Dustin & Ian, Part 4

2035 Mantracker Ep203, Dustin & Ian, Part 5

"Don't Panic!"

WTR? are happy to pick, in mini series for now, the 1981 BBC series:

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy

Not to be confused with the crappy film this was a pretty good adaptation of Adams superb novel.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy,[1] was a BBC television adaptation of Douglas Adams's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy broadcast in January and February 1981 on BBC Two. The adaptation followed the original radio series in 1978 and 1980, the first novel and double LP, in 1979, and the stage shows, in 1979 and 1980, making it the fifth version of the guide.

The series starred Simon Jones as Arthur Dent, David Dixon as Ford Prefect, Mark Wing-Davey as Zaphod Beeblebrox and Sandra Dickinson as Trillian. The voice of the guide was by Peter Jones. Simon Jones, Peter Jones and Mark Wing-Davey all reprised their roles from the radio series. In addition, the series saw a number of notable cameo roles, including Adams himself on several occasions.

Vic Mackey and the Strike Team are proud to select, with the overwhelming approval of Shane Vendrell aka Cletus Van Damme, in the category of Action/Adventure The Dukes of Hazzard!

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078607/

This show ran in a time period that was perfect for me to love it. I was 8 when it debuted. I loved fast cars and short shorts were starting to make an impact!

The show had a uniqueness to it despite it's generic story lines week after week. Criminals come to Hazzard (small town Georgia must be a really good target), Duke boys get into trouble, Duke boys sniff out criminals, Duke boys chase criminals while being chased by Roscoe. Duke boys catch and expose criminals everyone celebrates. It was almost Scooby Doo like in it's plotting, but it worked!

The characters were fun and well played. Bo and Luke Duke were definitely not the same guy and Wopat and Schneider did a good job of playing the characters differently enough to make that stick. The supporting characters were fun and well played led by Denver Pyle's Uncle Jesse. Roscoe P. Coltrane, Boss Hogg, Cooter the mechanic and Cousin Daisy did their part to keep things fun and interesting.

Clearly, the best things about the show were the car chases and Waylon Jennings' narration which always kept the viewer interested heading into the commercial break. Definitely one of my favorite childhood shows! The movie sure sucked!

Crap so many good picks lately,
Dukes - I was going between this and Knight Rider for my last pick but the Hoff won out.
Robot Chicken - Great show, thought it was lame at first but it has grown on me.
Mantracker - Great show again, I was going to use it as my Canadian pick but thought I was safe to let it go for at least a couple more rounds.
Hitchhikers Guide - Just plain classic, nuff said.
