Depending on where we finish, I wouldn't mind Treliving trading our first, a 2nd and a 3rd to move up in the first to get an impact player.
We would still have:
-The first (wherever we move up to)
- Two 2nds
- One third
Having 4 picks in the top 90, while moving up higher in the first would be a decent strategy (as long as the guy they want is available in the move up)
Who knows, maybe if we miss playoffs (hopefully we don't!) we win the draft lottery...

I know they aren't on "the list" but I'd love to see Calgary pick up Pilon or Sprong. From my limited viewings I've liked what I've seen.

If would be great if we could get one of those three at 14-15 and then use two of the 2nds to move into the 22-25 range to get Carlo or Roy.

I'd agree. The pattern developing so far this year is that some high ranked C's from the beginning of the year have slipped and Lower ranked D-men have risen. Aside from Strome, McJesus and Eichel I don't think there is as a defined line for the rest of the Centers. Marners rising but all over the place and scrawny as heck. Barzal needs to add some big time weight as well.
I'm thinking after the top 3, it's going to get real heavy on the D-men. Most are NHL sized already. Easy pickins. Werenski, Provorov, Hanifin Etc. Which is why I think Kylington is slipping so much, Probably the smallest of the highly ranked D-men.
In the end though, to or three highly touted players could slip down to CGY's spot. Kylington, Zacha and Barzal are my guesses.

Been hearing a bunch of negativity in regards to Sprong and his familial interference. Could be a big time red flag come interview time.

Big no to Pilon. Don't like his attitude and off-ice demeanor.

Certainly highly unlikely he is available for the Flames unless they're able to pull off a deal to move up, but here's an in depth profile on Mitch "The Magician" Marner:
Magical Mitch Marner: McDavid’s Malkin?

Hey People of the Puck - happy Monday!
My latest mock draft; Ran the lottery simulator and the hockey world might just explode if something similar were to happen at the top of the draft.
Flames land a dman...,
Also included is reference to that great Super Bowl commercial - the #FirstEverDraft - we know the kangaroo of the draft, but what about the sloth, wheat or the avocado?
Here she is:
2015 NHL Mock Draft: March Madness Edition
Would pay to see the live expression on the faces of MacT and Dwight Schrute, I mean T-Murray when/if the lottery winner was announced as it would be in this mock!
Cheers,
Chris

I will go crazy if we get J. Roy (in a good way).
I will puke if Philly gets McDavid. Pennsylvania needs to share the generational talent.

If McDavid lands in Philly, they'll just end up signing him to a big contract and trading him in 4+ years...

Anyone else heading to Florida for the draft? I thought this would be the perfect one to attend since it's in sunny Florida (make a vacation out of it) and we have so many picks in the top 90!

It would be awesome to make a trip like that, but my dad and I are actually flying to Calgary to watch 3 Flames' games instead! SSD, here I come.

I would be fine with the Flames using a second to move up to get Ivan Provorov.

I'm no scout, but i've been able to see Ivan Provorov quite a bit this season, being a Warriors season ticket holder. He's honestly one of the most complete/intelligent defenders i've been able to watch in the WHL during their draft eligible season.
Mind you, I only got limited viewings of Murray and Jones due to conference play... But still, his game is more complete at this early stage than the likes of Morrissey, Dumba, Pulock, Reinhart, Ceci, and Rielly.

Thanks Money Baer - he was super impressive in one of my viewings of him this season - had a great chat with him after the game as well - very impressed with the young lad.

Pretty quiet / humble kid. I had the opportunity to meet him and Klimchuk after a game. My buddy's cousin in Ryan Pilon so he hooked us up. It's refreshing to meet these young kids who know they're gonna be stars but have a good head on their shoulders...

Not really knowing much about the players outside the top 5, I do sure hope the Flames draft a defenceman this time around.
Once can spout 'best player available" all they want, but the Flames have a pretty large gap in quality prospects between Fwd and Def.
I imagine Hanifin, Provorov and Weresnki are all taken before our spot; leaving the likes of J.Roy, Chabot, Zboril, Carlo as potential targets.
I agree with the sentiment to trade up and grab a Provorov if possible.

I definitely agree. Getting into the top 10 would be huge. Seems like we could land a real impact player in that range. With so many picks we should really be able to try and make something happen. Our 1st a 2nd and a 3rd to move up and two 2nds and a 3rd to get another 1st would be pretty awesome. I'd be fine with drafting 6 prospects but I'd like the Flames to try and go for quality over quantity. I think we have quite a bit of depth in the organization and could definitely use some more high end skill. I think your best chance of that is obviously the first round.

I'm not sure I want to move into the top 10 with how our scouts have been drafting the last few years. Would much rather keep all 6 picks and draft in the top 91.

Are you guys atlking about trading picks near draft day, because it will be a lot easier to get a top 10 pick after the lottery. I don't see any picks with even a 1% chance moving before then.

Trades like that would probably happen at the draft or maybe a few days before. It would be amazing to move up or potentially get more than one first rounder. What if they moved some other picks for another first rounder than moved the 2 firsts for a high first.
How would everyone feel if Treliving offered all of our picks for a top 3 pick...
