Austin Watson is the only player that I could see Nashville giving up. (That Calgary would want and afford) Right handed, smart, big Colborne type. If Colborne hit. OHL playoff MVP by the looks of it, but slow transition to Nashville.

The name I heard brought up in different rumors is Craig Smith (Friedman mentioned him as a target of a different team today). C/RW that just signed a $4M plus contract and is having a down season.
With Johansen added to center ice I could see them looking at moving Smith to try and balance the budget that Nashville operates on.
Not sure they Flames have interest though - similar type of player/value as Backlund I would say.

Playing? Carter Hutton, Mikka Salomaki, C.Smith and Jankrok would be the kind of players you'd be looking at for Hudler.
Then in the system they have Kamenev, Vesey, Saros and Mazanek.

Gelinas is very familiar with Watson.
Watson even lived with Gelinas (when he was Director of Player Development for Nashville) for a little while so they could train together.
Just saying.

I feel almost certain that Kylington would be going back the other way. Poirier has regressed, Klimchuk is a B-level prospect and expiring contracts in Russell and Hudler won't get it done on their own. Dallas will want our highest rated prospect which would likely be Kylington or Gillies. Dallas could also use a solid rental for a deep playoff run, but no way they're giving up Nichushkin for a maximum of 3 months of Hudler/Russell. I feel it would be Kylington + one of Russell/Hudler.

Hutton is a 30 year old UFA back up. Not what I imagine we'd be looking at for Jiri. Perhaps July 1st, but not in a trade.

Strange that Nashville is looking to move a roster player, if the idea is to push for the playoffs.

I'm betting it's Craig Smith. It just makes too much sense from a veteran RW body in the face of losing two in the off season (Hudler and Jones).

Well I can't see the Blues trading with the Kings at the deadline, so maybe they're watching the Flames defense

Pretty sure that LA and Stl aren't making a trade. I wonder who Stl would be looking at??

I wouldn't mind Dmitrij Jaskin from the Blues. He was sent down to the AHL(looks like he got called back up again recently though), but he has good puck skills and good size. Hudler?

I could see the Blues being interested in Hudler. Steen is out for a month(at least) with an injury and they weren't exactly scoring at any great rate at it was, so losing their 2nd highest points scorer will hurt. They are already down Schwartz, Berglund, Stastny and Shattenkirk as well. Doubt they are taking Russell back, but I do think Hudler might be of some help to them.
