IMO Huberdeau-Kadri-Lindholm should be given one shot. We haven't tried it yet.

Dube - Lindholm - Toffoli is working though. I also don’t think Lindholm ever plays RW again here. We like the center depth, even if our winger depth is weak.

Lindholm is also a better centre than Kadri by a fairly large margin.

Yeah, Lindholm really elevated his game once he was converted back to his original center position. It seems like a waste to put him back on wing. He'd probably end up cutting his production by 20 points thereby negating any benefit to Huberdeau.

I'd be down if the Flames took a flyer on him and Poolparty

I have wanted Kravtsov for a while now however, watching some of the Rangers games, he's pretty disengaged and a true reclamation project if I ever saw one.

We really don't have much to lose so a 3rd for a young guy might not be the worse thing ever. We did give up a 2nd for Lazar.

Play multiple seasons with nothing but Iginla, since he's left it seems like the biggest weakness.

Our goaltending and Sutters stubbornness to keep playing Markstrom should be the clear cut answer to not spend any picks or prospects on depth players especially a Luke Schenn.

First of all we are good drafting teams a really good drafting team and its time to keep our picks and replenish our prospect base.

Last year the team showed they deserved a transaction to give us some depth and we did that with Toffoli. If not for Markstrom and his collapse I thought we had a real good chance at the cup.

They can try to get in with the players we have if it works it works if not well its not the worst thing to happens as this type of goaltending is not going to win you a round and might not win you a game in the playoffs.

We ride with Vladar now until the deadline and show some life that could change somethings, but I would he hesitant to trade any picks.

We don’t have the top end talent like that team but our defense is miles better than Commodore, Montador, and Brennan Evans.

If those loaded rosters were so much better than ours, why did they also only barely qualify for the playoffs?
This year's roster is better, including the top 5 defensemen. Defensive depth is a concern though.

Commodore, Montador and Brennan were 7, 8 and 9 on the depth chart.

Right now the Flames top 5 is great (well... on paper, not in results!), but then we see Stone, Mackey and Gilbert as 6, 7 and 8. The Flames are two blueline injuries away from having Stone, Mackey and Gilbert as 4, 5 and 6. That's kinda scary... really scary actually.

All that, plus I hate to separate Pelletier from Huberdeau. I think it's a pairing that can work plus they like each other.

At the expense of who though?

Would Sutter roll a 4th line of Kravstov - Lewis - Puljujarvi ?

It only makes sense to bring in a forward in my eyes if he’s going in at the top of the lineup - as in, to be our 1st, 2nd, or 3rd best forward. Kravstov and Puljujarvi certainly don’t do that.

In a pure knee jerk reaction to last night I wonder what the logistics of a Markstrom - Vemelka swap would look like. How much salary retained by Flames? Do we have to send a pick/prospect/roster player as a sweetener?

Not sure there's many teams looking at Markstrom's work this year and going "man I'd sure like to trade X for more years of that"

None of the players, like Markstrom, to which the Flames committed large contracts to are going anywhere. Especially not right now.

Markstrom’s NMC likely blocks that deal. I am not sure selling Markstrom at an all time low makes sense. Maybe in the summer but in season I just don’t see the urgency. Give Vladar the net and have Markstrom backup
