FWIW Craig isn’t actively shopping anyone, he’s simply sitting back and listening.
I still don’t believe we see anything moved between now and camp, but if an offer comes in that makes sense then we’d see him pull the trigger.
Andersson is the one generating the most noise, but teams have called on a number of players (Kadri, Pospisil, Weegar)

Great to see that Posposil has turned into such a valued asset. It was rumoured that New Jersey really wanted him in the Markstrom trade and now it sounds like other teams are interested in him. I don’t want to trade him - it’s just a good indication that it’s not just flames fans that appreciate what he has done over the last year. I’m hoping he keeps the momentum in his development going this season.

I think the waiting game is exactly where conroy is and should be. We dont have to move any if them, most teams seem to know conroy will listen on most players so sit back and wait for the right offer.
Also Pretty certain most gm’s know if they stop by with a young top six center they will get their guy from conroy.
Thanks for the info Royle!

I wonder if Andersson's value is going to get higher or lower closer to the deadline.
On the one hand teams would be more likely to spend assets closer to the TD. On the other Andersson's pairing could have a very rough start to the season. Andersson will need to carry a pairing with either Bahl or Bean against the McDavids and MacKinnons of the league. Moreover we'll have an inexperienced goalie, and only 1 defensively responsible NHL center.

Rumour is Draisaitl 8 years at 14M. Which sounds about right.

It can't be McDavid related as he can't sign an extension until July 1. It would have to be Draisaitl.

I know that but I just don’t see Leon staying unless Connor has also committed to extending next summer.

So after this season it will be 16 McDavid. 14 Leon. 10 Bouchard and 9.25 for Nurse. Near 50 million for 4 guys that can't or won't play defence. Hahahhahaha

Best case scenario as a Flames fan was either or both leaving the Oilers. Doesn’t matter if they overpay to keep both and have a skeleton crew for the rest of the team, that still gives them a small chance every season to put it together.
However, based on their cap use at the moment and lack of prospect pool, and the fact they used up alot of that luck with the run last year with depth pieces playing their lives out, there’s a world where they don’t achieve anything for another few years.
Still don’t like it though, the dream scenario of them leaving is dead lol.

Not sure if there’s already a thread, but Torrey Krug is going to miss the year after ankle surgery. Perhaps St. Louis could be a good trade partner for an experienced defenseman?

I looked it up.
https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article...-ankle-injury/
The surgery is to address pre-arthritic changes... Isn't that an old persons ailment? Also, he's 33 already? Still feels like he should be around 26 or so.

Didn't Doug Armstrong try to trade Krug and he said no? Pretty apparent this issue has been going on a while.
Hopefully they disclosed this to potential acquirors. When trading with St Louis, hold on to your wallet!
